Baby Connor UPDATE: 9-18-02 Connor is home and doing well! As a matter of fact, he turned over on his own this past week, and looked up at his mother with expressions of " Hey Mom....how about that!" He's eating well and acts as if nothing happened. So ...THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL THE PRAYERS. THIS JUST CONFIRMS AGAIN THAT THERE ARE NO SURPRISES WITH GOD AND HE'S STILL IN CONTROL! MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR MINISTRY! Mary UPDATE: 8-27-02 pm Dear Elizabeth: I just spoke with Connor's mother, Shelley. She was so elated that sunshine just filled her voice. "Connor's doing GREAT and so am I", she said. "The prayers worked Aunt Mary...this afternoon when they made another attempt to take him off the ventilator, there was no problem...he just started breathing on his own!" Tomorrow Connor will be moved out of ICU and into a regular pediatric bed. If all goes well, he'll be sleeping in his crib at home this weekend! THANK YOU LORD, THANK YOU LORD, THANK YOU LORD!!!! AND... THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE KEPT CONNOR BEFORE THE THRONE OF HEAVEN! Aunt Mary UPDATE: 8-27-02 Connor continues to progress with one exception. It appears that he has became "ventilator dependent" and the doctors say that when they try to take him off the ventilator, he just stops breathing. So please pray that God will send his angels to teach Connor how to breathe on his own again! Aunt Mary UPDATE: 8-26-02 Dear Elizabeth: Today is Monday and the Lord continues to bless Connor. He's back to formula feedings and progressing very well. We just keep offering up praise to our awesome God! Thank you Lord for your healing and comfort! Aunt Mary UPDATE: 8-25-02 Dear Elizabeth... Today is Sunday and the Lord's day in more than one way! The saints of God prayed and it appears that God has heard our prayers. Connor's temperature has came down dramatically, his sonograms have all been normal, the lab. work reveals only a urinary tract infection and the doctors are weaning him off the ventilator. We're told that if all continues to go well, he should be in a regular pediatric bed on Wednesday. We're still asking why and how he could become SOOO ill SOOO quick but the answer to that question may never be known in this life. We DO feel however that the prayers of the saints have been heard and our God still reigns ! Thank you , thank you , ALL for your prayer support in this crisis ! Love in Christ, Aunt Mary ADDED: 8-23-02 Dear Elizabeth: The nightmares continue! Emily died on June 21st and now it's barely two months later and Emily's little cousin Cononor (age 1 month) is now in ICU on a respirator. It seems that one of his kidneys didn't fully develop as they should have, he refluxed urine back into one of them, developed an infection before we knew it ! He started running a temperature last night, was taken to a hospital in Owassa, Okla. His temperature on arrival was 100 degrees but by the time they transferred him to Tulsa, he arrived in St. Frances Hospital of Tulsa with a temperature of 109. The temperature is coming down but VERY slowly and he is listed as "critical". When his mother Shelley was told that he had to be put on a respirator, she fainted and when she came to, she did so screaming in fear. Her blood pressure has been very high (that's why Connor was delivered by C-Section early....the stress of Emily's illness and death took it's toll on Shelley and they had to take Connor). Shelley is the sister of Emily's dad. Please pray for all of us...we're terrified! Love in Christ, Mary
