Jasmine

Jasmine and her sisters.
I wrote this for Jasmine when she was born.
My Guardian Angel
God sent me a special baby
On the 10th of March 1995
A little girl, whom I call Jasmine
She was born with a special need
Which is called Down Syndrome
At First I blame myself
And asked "why"
Why would something like this
Happen to me
What have I done to deserve this
Finally I realized that
God knew it was meant to be
That I was the only one for you
Cause I always wanted
Someone to love, cherish
And call my own
You were the perfect one for me
God chose to give you to me
For He knew that I would
Give you all the love
That you would ever need
For He sent you, My Guardian Angel
Down to me.
This was written especially for you
For you are truly my Guardian Angel
From above!!
I love you always!!!
Mommy

UPDATE: 3-8-08
Hello to Everyone,
It has been a while since I've updated Jasmine's information. She will be 13 years old on Monday, March 10th. So hard to imagine that I will have teenager living with me. Two weeks ago Jasmine was climbing a tree at Church and fell out. A couple of friends (one a nurse) and I got to her and checked her out, she seemed to be okay. She was crying that her ankle hurt and the nurse couldn't tell if it was sprain, broken or was okay. So we got her to the van and got her home, gave her medicine and she went to bed due to school the next day. Well, around 12:15 am she was crying that her ankle hurt so my husband went to check on her. I heard him get the rolling chair and met them in the dining room. Her ankle was swollen so bad, my husband thought it was broken, so we immediately got her in the van and I was at the ER by 1 am. They took her back and did several X-Rays. Around 3:30 am the doctor came in and told me that it was definitely broken and that it needed to be repaired, so they called in an Orthopedic doctor. Well the Orthopedics doctor arrived around 5:30am and told me that her ankle was broken in such an awkward way that they were sending us to Florence (1 1/2 hours away) to see a specialist. That we shouldn't let her eat or drink anything because they would most likely do surgery that afternoon. (Now we haven't eaten since 6:30 pm on Wed. and I was up since 7 am on Wed. and haven't had any sleep).
We arrived in Florence at 10 am and saw the doctor between 11:30-12 pm. Instead of doing surgery like the doctor at our hospital stated we were do proceed with patient registration for surgery on Friday morning at 6am. We finally got to eat around 4pm. We had to attain a wheelchair for her to elevate her ankle to help with the swelling. We got up at 4am and headed the hospital in Florence. We arrived just in time, but it was around 11am before they got her back to surgery. During surgery her heart rate dropped to the low 40s, but she came through surgery fine. They decided to keep her over night due to the incident with her heart during surgery. Sat. the doctor came in and didn't want her to go home until she was better because Friday night she didn't sleep due to so much pain. Well be ended up staying for 4 nights and five days. When we arrived home, it was hard for me to get her from the van, down the sidewalk and up a set of steps. ( I was the only one home because my husband was at work) I got her in the house, the first couple of days and nights she still had some pain, but keeping her occupied was another challenge.
I am so thankful for her caseworker, because she was able to get us help to build a deck with a ramp on the back of our home. Today is Thursday, March 6th and she is doing better, she wants to get in her wheelchair and roll around in our house( we live in a doublewide with 5 different rooms she able to go through). Now that our deck and ramp is finally built, it felt good to get her out of the house with less trouble than it was getting her in. She goes back to Florence to see the doctor on Mon.( her birthday) and he will remove the cast on her and place it with another one for a month or so, depending how well she does. She has been out of school since Feb. 20th and I've been out of work as well. I am hoping that they will let her attend school even if it is only for a few days a week. She needs the interaction with other children her age. Overall she is doing better and I can't seem to catch up on the sleep I've lost or the housework. As for the rest of the family, Barbie will be 7 yrs old next Wed., March 12th. She is doing so well in school. Growing quickly. Angelina is doing great in school. She missed her 1st day of school this year on Tues. due to running a fever and she missed again today. But I am thankful that she is feeling well enough to attend school tomorrow. She is a big help to me. Before I forget, we have a new addition to our family. Our dog, Snuggles, had 11 puppies (7 girls and 4 boys) on Feb. 27th. The girls are so excited about them, but they understand that we need to find loving homes for them. They are excited that we deicide to keep 2.
I was elected to be on the Board Of Directors for the Grand Strand Down Syndrome Society and I am so excited about being part of something that is heart touching and a blessing.
Take care and God Bless You!!!\

UPDATE: 7-2-07

Hello To All,
It has been awhile since I visited. We have had so much going on over these past two years. I have been working a lot as a substitute teacher and Jasmine has been sick on and off. She has had at least 3 sinuses surgeries over these past two years. She recently was diagnosed with Sydenham Chorea ( a body movement disorder). She has missed a lot of school again this year. She got so sick she lost 12 lbs within a few weeks. But Praise God she is doing better now since they diagnosed her and changed her medication around. She can no longer take certain kinds of medication including her ADHD medicine. She has been placed on Depakote 500 mg once a day and it seems to be helping. She now weighs 99 1/2 pounds. She will be attending camp for the first time ever. Jasmine is 12 yrs old and will be in the 7th grade this year. I just pray that she has a better year than she had over these past few years.
Her sisters are doing great!!! Angelina got saved and was baptized and recently had a birthday, she is now 10 yrs. She has worked so hard this year in school and will be in the 5th grade. She is a big help around home.
Barbie is now 6yrs old and will be in the first grade this year. My babies are growing up so fast.
As for Jasmine, I still struggle getting her to participate in helping out around the house like her sisters, she has gotten where she will not do anything and want people to wait on her like she is still a baby, she makes a total mess in her room and expect her sisters to clean it up, she is into name calling and talking back. I am unsure on how to get her to follow directions. I have people telling me that she is at an age where she is going to be defiant.
She can be a good girl at times as well as being polite. She is growing up into a teenager. I still have a lot to learn.
Please keep us in your prayers. God Bless each of you.
Sarah

UPDATE: 12-14-05
We went to the ENT doctor today and they are putting her on a month's supply of Augmentin. We go back to Charleston Jan. 5th- to Derm, 12th for allergy testing and 17th to do a CT Scan of her brain( to see why her sinuses are so bad and to see if her adenoids have grown back). But I know who is in control and He ( God) can take care of it.
My prayers and thoughts go out to each and everyone of you. May God bless you and your family.

UPDATE: 12-12-05
Hi,
I first would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!!
Jasmine is still having sinus problems, she's on her 2 round of antioboditics( this is a little more stronger). Over the past 2 and 1/2 weeks we have had so much sickness. Jasmine with her sinuses and bad cough, Angelina with strep throat, a bad cough and fever, Barbie with strep throat, high fevers, bad cough, double middle ear infection and now showing possible signs of pneumonia. Myself with an extremely sore throat, ear pain and bad headaches. But we are working on getting better.
Jasmine is still doing better in school. Angelina has been picked to ride in a limo and go out to a nice restaurant to eat with several other students. She was chosen for "Limos for Learning" program that they do at her school. Brad and I are very proud of how well she is doing. Jasmine made the honor roll for the first time ever!!!! We are so proud!!
There is a song that is sung by Point of Grace "When Love Came Down" The night that Jesus was born, Love came down. Each day we should be willing to share the Love that God sent us. I thank God so much for what He has done for my family. He has blessed us in so many ways that no matter how bad things get I know He is in control. At times it does get hard and I worry, but I feel that it is part of human nature to worry. I have to remind myself God allows things to happen for a reason. There is a reason for everything and God will reveal it to us in His time not ours. Don't give up hope no matter how bad things seem. We just need to put our trust and faith in God. Thank you for all your prayers. God does answers prayers.
My heart is with each and everyone of you. I pray that God will guide you along the right paths to take. I pray for your children and I pray for you. May God bless you and keep you strong.

UPDATE: 11-7-05
I apologize for not doing an update on Jasmine sooner. Jasmine is in 5th grade and doing so much better in school this year. She has lost around 15-17 lbs. The doctors changed her medication around for her allergies. She now takes allegra (instead of zyrtec) and singulair; takes pulimiciort 2 times a day as well as abulterol. We will be checking her thyroid here soon to see whether we need to increase her medication or not. About every year when it's been check they increase her medication. Still waiting to do a recheck on the Sleep Study. Jasmine is still having nose bleeds and bad sinsus problems. She has had a bad cough here lately. Please continue to pray for her.
Jasmine means so much to us!! I love to see her smile and come up to me and say " I love you mom!!" She is so sweet and loving!! She will be 11 in the next 4 months. I can still see her pulling all the movies off the entertainment center and the big smile when she would look up at you. My baby is growing up and trying to be more independent in some areas. I love her so much. Next year she will be going to Middle School. It will be the first time she is separated from her two sisters. Angelina and Barbie.
Please continue to pray for Angelina and Barbie as well!! Angelina is in 3rd grade and Barbie is in Child Development this year.
Sarah

UPDATE: 7-8-05
Sorry I haven't written in awhile. It has been very busy around my house these past few months. Between the girls going to summer school, getting ready for children to attend camp, preparing for VBS to our vehicle giving us problems . As well as trying to maintain Jasmine's diet plan that she is currently on through the Heart Health Program. Jasmine has lost 14 lbs, but gained back 2 lbs due to sneaking and eating foods without us knowing. It is some our fault as well because it so hard to take the other two girls out to McDonalds without Jasmine getting her favorite food. But we do try to limit her. She saw the heart doctor a week ago and is doing okay. Still has a small leak, and they will continue to monitor it yearly for awhile then switch to every 3 yrs. She has been placed on Pulmicort and Alburetrol. The doctor is setting her for the bipap study. We had to put that off for awhile, but they feel like she needs to be on it. Overall I feel like she is doing better than she has in quite some time. The Lord has blessed her and my family. When she had gotten sick, my husband was only attending Sunday School and Preaching. Now he attends Church with us on Sunday night for Bible Study and Wednesday night (when he can get off from work). I give the Lord praise for all He has done. Thank you for your prayers.
Sarah

UPDATE: 4-13-05
Just a short note to say that we are finally home. She is doing okay. Her immune system is still low. She will be out of school for a month, possibly the remainder of the year. We go Friday to see the cardiologist to see if her leakage in her value is closed up or whether she may have to have surgery. Depending on what they find.
Other than that, we are glad to be home again.
Sarah

UPDATE: 4-7-05
Today Jasmine was DC from the hospital. She is still weak, but is walking some as well as eating. We are flying home on Monday afternoon. She still needs a lot of prayers. When we get back, she has to see her Pediatrician, Cardiologist, ENT and do PT/OT . Please continue to pray for her.
She can not be around large crowds, anyone who may be sick and smokers. Also out of school for a month.
We can't wait to see everyone.
Thank you all for your phone calls and prayers.
Sarah

UPDATE: 4-5-05
Hello,
Jasmine is finally in a room. # 303-788-7103
She has all her tubes out with the exception of 1 IV line and the Foly. She is starting to eat alittle and drink some. She has to have PT and OT. We have gotten her to sitt up some. Bless her heart, we tried to get her to walk today, but does not have the strength to stand up. She shakes really bad. She even has a hard time bringing her milk up to mouth.
She has a bad bed sore on the back of her head. Please continue to pray for her. We still have to watch out for her heart situation. That the leakage will heal up on its own.
I am not sure how much longer we will be. It depends on how well she can do with PT and OT.
Well, I will keep you updated as much as possible.
With great appreciation for the phone calls and prayers,
Sarah

UPDATE: 3-25-05
Thursday, March 24, 2005
There is little change with Jasmine, with a few exceptions. The doctor
told us Wednesday that her x-ray showed that her lungs were starting
to clear slowly. Today, there is no change as in her x-ray. Yesterday
we tried to wean her off the paralegtic medication (may be misspelled),
but as soon as they stopped it, her blood pressure went over 206,
heart rate went way up in 190s and her oxgyen dropped tremendously.
So they had to put her back on it and increased her sedation medicine.
They want to wean her off the ventulator, but it will be a slow process.
Her protein that causes the inflamation is down at 10. Her hemogoblin
keeps going up and down. They thought Wednesday that they were going
to have to do a blood transfusion. It is up as of now. Her potassium
and calcium is low. Giving her some medication for that. She is swollen
from so much fluid. They are trying to help get rid of some of that
fluid, not sure how. She has opened her eyes a little and she knows
when myself and her daddy is present. We continue to talk to her and
play her KLOVE station.
Tonight(Thursday), my brother-in-law is staying with Jasmine so that
Brad and I can have some time together and with Angelina and Barbie.
Brad will be staying Friday night and maybe Saturday night. He wants
m to spend time with the girls before they have to leave on Sunday
to fly back home.Starting Sunday night I'll be with Jasmine pretty
much 24/7. She is still in the CCU.
I didn't realize how hard it is going to be to say good-bye to my
family. We have never been apart this long before and this far away.
My sister and brother-in-law will try to help give me breaks some
next week when they can.
As for me, I am still pretty sick with a bad cold, but trying to be
strong. Which is the hardest thing to do. I seem to cry so much when
no one is looking. I keep thinking about how our vacation was suppose
to be and that when I am out with the other girls how unfair it is to
Jasmine. Especially today when it started snowing. Knowing that was
one of the things she was excited about coming to Colorado for. She
is missing out in so many things. But I know that God has a purpose
for all of this happening.
Please continue to pray for us, that my family makes it back home
safely on Sunday, that Jasmine will be better soon so we can return
home, and for me that I will remain strong for Jasmine.
I am not sure when I will be able to get back to the internet, so
if you would like to contact me you can call me at 303-788-7280. I
will back at the hospital starting Saturday or Sunday night. Brad
will be there Friday and Saturday.
I got my plane tickets extended until April 10th but I have to pay
the extentsion fees on both tickets. I explained the situation and
they told me that they no longer waive any documentations from doctors.
I am going to see if I can get the case worker at the hospital to help
me out. Please pray that they can get the extentsion fees waived.
Thank you all for your prayers and phone calls. They mean so much to me.
Sarah

UPDATE: 3-22-05
We arrived on our family vacation in Denver Colorado on Friday, March 18. Jasmine had to be taken to the hospital at 2am. She is in Critcal Care Unit at Swedish Hospital on a Breathing machine. She has full blast pneumonia and the doctors are not sure how she developed it so fast over 12 hrs. The are running lots of test to find out what kind of viruses she may have. Our number at the hospital is 303-788-7280.
This was suppose to be a fun time for us to spend together as a family and with my sister's family who lives here in Colorado. My husband and I are having to trade nights at the hospital so that our other two girls can still have a little bit fun before they have to leave. We are suppose to leave on Easter Sunday. But instead, my husband and two girls will be leaving, I'll be staying at the hospital with Jasmine until she is able to fly home.
My sister and her husband offered to help out in any way. PLEASE PRAY for JASMINE and OUR FAMILY AS WELL!!

UPDATE: 2-22-05
Hi,
I need to correct the address for anyone who can help me with the BiPAP. It is angel01@sccoast.net
Jasmine saw the Endocrincology. He told us before he can do anything that he wants us to see the Nutritionist. So today he ordered blood test and next week we'll start the weight program. After six months of weight management the Dr. Appegyii will see her again and redo her blood work. If no improvements then he'll move to the next step.
We are trying her out on the treadmill ( will her daddy helping), she is trying hard.
God Bless,
Sarah
Jasmine was diagnoised last Tuesday with having both Central and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. The doctor wants to get her weight under control, start her on a BiPAP machine and referred her to the cardiologist. They found a little heart murmur and the doctor wants to make sure Jasmine doesn't have any signs of heart failure. Jasmine had an AV Canal repair at 5mths old. I guess because of her having the sleep apnea, the doctor is a little concern. I do remember that at the end of last school year I had to pick her up from school because of having bad chest pains. She just saw the Heart Doctor last June, which all they did was a EKG. She goes next Friday, March 4th to have a ECHOGRAM(spelling may not be right). Jasmine will also be starting a Weight Managament Program on March 1st called Heart for Healthy Program. Tomorrow, Wed. Feb. 23rd, we are heading out early to Charleston to see the Endricindologist.
I am proud to say that Jasmine has done so much better in school, now that we got a third person in her class. She came home with an 80 on her spelling test from last Friday. That is a big improvement for her. I am so proud of her. I know that God will take care of His children.
There is an updated picture of Jasmine and her sisters above.
Sarah
PS If anyone knows what a BiPAP is and what it looks like, please email me and let me know.
angel01@sccoast Please put BiPAP in the subject heading

Jasmine and her sisters.
UPDATE: 1-15-05
Please also pray for Jasmine. She is having a sleep study done tomorrow to see if the CPAP will work. Then we will be back at the doctors on Wednesday to see what they can do about the dark shadow inbetween her back teeth. We will also be going to the Neurologist in Feb. Her Triglyceride is up to 305. The doctor has referred her to a Heart Health Program, which is 12 sessions. She has also broke out with some kind of bumps on her face and when she scratches it bleeds. The doctor has given her a prescription cream, but it doesn't seem to work so well. She has been vomiting as well.
God Bless,
Sarah

UPDATE: 12-20-04
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a Blessed New Year
Sarah

UPDATE: 11-29-04
Jasmine was diagnosed last Wednesday with Central Sleep Apnea and possible Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome. We are waiting on Charleston to set up another Sleep Study to see if she is a qualifies for a CPAP, then from there, we are to see a Neurologist. She is own her fourth round of antiboditics for her sinuses. She is also scheduled to go back to the dentist in Jan. to have some work done. They found a shadow inbetween two of her teeth. Don't know whether they will remove the tooth, fill it, or just leave it.
Hopefully we'll find some answers soon, but I know that the Great Physician will take care of all her needs. God is so loving.
Sarah

UPDATE: 11-8-04
Hello,
Several things have happen over the past few months. Jasmine started out in school okay, but her behavior started changing. She has been on and off medication for her ADHD. The medication have been changed back and forth that her behavior is hard getting back on track. She doesn't do well in school; such as listening to instructions, participating in daily work. She has even been late to class; in other words the bell rings at 7:30 am and she will still be in the cafeteria sitting there. She has even gotten up and walked right out of the class.
Her sinsuses have been a pain. She just finished her second round of antiboditics and it doesn't seem like it has helped. She is so congested. This past Friday, Jasmine had a sleep apnea test done. I don't have all the results yet, but they are concerned because when she sleeps on her back, her oxygen starts dropping, she is very restless (woke up about 5 different times) and she doesn't stay in one position (either straight, sideways or upside down in the bed).
She is going to the doctors again this Thursday. She is going to see the Developmental Doctor whom said that Jasmine may also have ODD and she will be seeing the dentist. Then we go back to the doctors on Nov. 24th to see two more doctors.
It's that time of the year where we do annual thyroid checks. Not looking forward to that.
Angelina, my middle daughter is going for major dental work on Monday, 9-8-04. She is very nervous.
My Granddaddy pasted away 2 weeks ago. I would like for my mom to please be remembered. Also please remember my mom because she broke her ankle 9 weeks ago, she finally got the cast off last Thursday. But she is still having a time walking. I love her dearly and I hate to see her in pain.
My prayers and thoughts go out to each one of you and your families. I pray that God will give us each the strength we need to do His will.
With Blessings,
Sarah

UPDATE: 7-19-04
It has been a few months since I've written. We have been having trouble with our computer and the internet.
Jasmine is still having some problems with her sinsuses or allgeries. She goes in about 2 weeks to have an allgery test done. She is on new medication for ADHD and seems to be doing much better with the exception of being stubborn. I get so upset with her at times because I try so hard to do things for her and help her, but all she wants to do at times is stomp her feet, tell me "no" and cry out for her daddy. I love her so much. She is my first born daughter and I have always been there and will continue to be there for her. Jasmine and her sisters are my life.
She loves playing baseball and that will start back up in Sept. She loves going to Church. If we start out the door and I have to go to Church to do some work such as run copies for my class, she grabs her Bible and is ready to go. I just wish her daddy was more like her when it comes to wanting to go to Church. He attends, but not as much as my three daughters and I.
Jasmine is a blessing in my life and I am thankful for the good Lord for all He has done for my family. I just pray for the strength that we need to continue to deal with a child with special needs. I try to treat her the same as any other 9 year old. I give her chores to do, which she refuses to do. But eventually she gives in. Sometimes she offers to help. She is a bright and smart young girl.
She is in summer school and this Thursday will be her last day. She missed most of last week due to being sick. She still has a bad cough and is restless at night. But the only thing the doctor would do is give her some ATUSS to help her rest.
Please continue to pray for her. Angelina, the middle daughter, needs a lot of prayers. She is in desire need of goiing to a dentist to have some work done. She has several cavities, a broken off tooth, a couple with holes in them and she has 4 teeth that are loose. 1 is extremely loose, but won't come out.We have been to 2 different dentist and now it will be next month before we go see a 3rd dentist. the 1st dentist wanted to add crowns and do several others things to her baby teeth. But we didn't have $839 for them to do one side of her mouth and then come back in a week to do the other and pay another large bill. So we went to the 2nd dentist for another opinion. He stated that she did not need all the things done that the 1st dentist had said. So we set up and appointment, went, but because they do not do laughing gas, she fought with them. He refused and told us to find another child specialist to go to. So that is where we stand with that.
I pray that God will bless each and everyone of you. ALL of OUR CHILDREN are a GIFT from OUR HEAVENLY FATHER!!!!! I am bless with 3 beautiful daughters, each with a special need of their own. I know that God watches over them!!!
Sarah

UPDATE: 4-14-04
Sorry I haven't written in a while. My surgery was in Feb. and I am doing much better. Jasmine had Sinsus Surgery on March 29, 2004. She is doing better. We saw the doctor yesterday and gave us great news. Instead of having a recheck once every week for 4 weeks, we will see him in 2 months. As long as she continues to improve. I am so thankful for all the prayers and support of family and friends. Jasmine also saw the eye doctor and she is required to wear glasses. She is farsighted and a little nearsighted. She also has stigmatism in both her eyes. Now the trick is getting her to wear the glasses and keep them on.
Jasmine is having some other problems that my husband and I are concern about. She has a bad gagging reflux at night and lays in bed maoning, crying about her elbow and feet hurting. We are not sure if she just doesn't want to go to bed or something is truly wrong.
Please also pray for Angelina. She has to go up 3 more level in reading to pass 1st grade. She is doing fine in all other areas. Angelina is a great help to me. She is only 6 1/2 years old and helps me with Jasmine and Barbie.
Thank you for Jasmine's birthday card. That was very sweet.
Jasmine has started playing baseball again with the Grand Strand Miracle League. She is so excited. This helps her interact with other children and myself with other adults.
Hopefully I will be able to update some pictures of the girls soon.
God Bless each and every one. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
Sarah

UPDATE: 2-25-04
Hi,
I am sorry I haven't written in a while. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. Doing fine.
Jasmine wil be having surgery on March 29,2004 at MUSC, in Charleston South Carolina.
Her sinuses are pretty bad and so we decided to do the surgery if it will help her breathe better and not be sick so much with the sinuses.
God loves you!!
Sarah

UPDATE: 2-1-04
Update. My insurance was approved. I will be having surgery this Tuesday. Also, Angelina came to me a little earlier. When she was cleaning off the table, she hit her mouth. It was bleeding so, I thought that she may have cut her lip. Instead I found that she has two infected areas( with infection and blood) above her teeth. I am going to try to get her to a doctor, but it will be hard with me having surgery this week. Not only that Barbie, the youngest, is broken out in some kind of rash. Her skin is so dry. Jasmine is still going to the doctor on Monday afternoon. She has been sick at her stomach and having headaches. I ask that you please remember us in your prayers this week.
God loves you!!
Sarah

UPDATE: 1-29-04
Jasmine had a CT scan done last week. It shows that she has chronic sinusitis. She will be seeing an ENT doctor on Monday to determine what the next step will be. Possible surgery??
Also I am suppose to be having surgery on Tuesday, Feb. 3rd. I am to have a hysterecomy, but my insurance have not approved it yet. I am 28 yrs old and the insurance company thinks that I am too young to have the hysterecomy.
I was diagnosis with Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, CPP, Pelvic varicose, Endometriosis and Dysmenorrhea. I am asking for prayer that the insurance will approve the surgery. That I can get some kind of relief from the pain that I have.
Please remember Angelina, Jasmine's sister, she has been throwing up with stomach pains and diarrehea. Also she is behind in school. I pray that she will bring her reading level up so that she can advance to the 2nd grade with her friends.
God loves you!!

UPDATE: 1-08-04
I first want to say that I pray that God will lay His Healing Hands upon each and everyone. That His Will will be done.
Jasmine goes for an update with the Developmental Doctor next Wednesday. They want to see how her behavior is doing. Yesterday, the teacher stated that all she wanted to do was sleep and be stubborn. She said last night that her head was hurting. I think that her allgeries might be acting up due to the change in weather--warm to very cold.
I pray that this year will be a better year for each and everyone!!!!
God loves you!!
Sarah

UPDATE: 12-23-03
The girls are doing better. They are excited about Christmas and is looking forward to seeing their aunt, uncle and cousin Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: 12-21-03
The girls are doing alittle better. Barbie still runs a low fever due to a bad ear infection in the left ear All three are still coughing a lot and having a runny nose. They will continue to take medication for the next few days. Hopefully they will be better by Tuesday when they get to meet their new cousin, ALexa, and see their Aunt and Uncle.
I will be praying for each and everyone of you.
Sarah

UPDATE: 12-17-03
Hello,
Jasmine is not a whole lot better at this time. She will not be attending school to after the Holidays. Her sisters have the flu. Angelina woke up early Tuesday morning vomiting and having a bloody nose at the same time. Her fever stays in the range of 102-104. Barbie stays in the range of 101-103. Jasmine has a low grade fever at this time. The medicine the doctors put Angelina and Barbie on causes them to gag and throw it up. The doctor also said that Jasmine is still capable of getting the flu as well. That the medicine she is on will not stop her from getting the flu. As for my husband and I, we are getting sick as well. I am trying to fight it cause I need to stay strong and get my girls better. My sister is coming home next Tuesday with her daughter whom we have not met yet. So I do not want to get her sick.

UPDATE: 12-10-03
Jasmine went to Charleston on Monday. They are changing her medication. The doctor is weaning her off Risperdal and putting her on Abilify. So hopefully this will help out some. Behavior and appetite wise. Her doctor appointment for Wed. 12/10/03 was changed to Jan. 21 st.
Jasmine is so excited about Christmas and is looking forward to Santa coming. She got to meet Santa Claus last Saturday at the Christmas Party for the Grand Strand Miracle League. She gave him a list of things. I saw so many children's eyes lite up when Santa arrived on the Fire truck. It is a blessing to see the work that people do to put a smile on these children's faces.
My husband's job is going okay so far. He is really enjoying it because he so much closer to home and able to do things with his children. Still waiting for insurance. My middle daughter, Angelina, is suppose to see the ENT doctor. She had tubes put in her ears in May and is now time for a recheck to make sure everything is fine. But without insurance, I can not take her at this time.
I pray that everyone will have a Merry Christmas.
God Loves You ! Sarah

UPDATE: 12-03-03
Jasmine is doing somewhat better in school.(Especially since we told her that Santa Claus is watching to see if she is good and behaves) Her sinsuses are acting up again. Around her eyes have been really red tonight. The doctors really do not want to do anything about her sinsuses until she is older. So they will continue to give her antibodics. She will see her Allergy doctor on Wednesday, December 10th. She is also putting a little to much weight on. I know that it has a lot to do with her medication that she is taking for ADHD. Risperdal is a medication that makes you want to eat constantly. So now we are going have to try to put her on some kind of diet. She is going to Charleston on Monday, December 8th. I do not know if they will increase her medication or try to change it again.
God Loves You !

UPDATE: 11-26-03
Sunday, I went to the alter and turned it over to the Lord. Thank you for your prayers.
Things are starting to look up some. Brad started his new job yesterday with the new company. His old company has agreed to pay him until the 3rd of Dec. even though his last day was Mon. It felt so good for him to be home early and for us to be together at the dinner table as a family. To me that was a blessing. Jasmine' s test results will probably be ready next week. Pray that the outcome will be good. Also I will be having a MRI done today on my pelvic area. God bless each and every family during this Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for. We have each other and our families !!! Happy Thanksgiving!!! God Bless !!!

UPDATE: 11-22-03

If not better over the weekend, then I will have to make her an appointment to be rechecked. Behavior in school is not any better at this time. As soon as I get the new results I will let you know. Happy Thanksgiving

UPDATE: 11-14-03
Jasmine is still sick with sinus problems pretty bad. She is starting another round of antibodics tonight. She is not been doing great in school this week. The teachers said that Jasmine seems to be tired a lot. I think it has to do with her medication. Please remember her in your prayers.

UPDATE: 11-11-03
Hi, I just recieved a phone call from Jasmine's Doctor. She went last Monday to have her annual thyroid check. The test results came back. They are going to increase her synthyroid tablets twice a day for two weeks. Then I go back on Nov. 24th to have her blood drawn again. Her T3 is at a 30 which is borderline. Jasmine does not like needles. It took 4 nurses and myself just to hold her down last Monday. Please pray for her. Also please continue to pray for my family as well. God Bless Each Of You!!!

UPDATE: 11-05-03
Jasmine is doing okay. She is on her second round of antibodics for acute sinusitis. I am concern that when she gets older, they will need to do something about her sinus problems. Jasmine has had about three nosebleeds due to her sinuses so far. She played on the Grand Strand Miracle league this past September and October. It is base ball for the Special Needs Children. She is doing fair in school. She is still on medications for her thyriods, allergies and ADHD. Her medication for the ADHD is causing her to have a side affect picking. When I ask her what she is picking at, she says "dots". I am going to have to talk to the eye doctor to see if she has floaters. Please continue to remeber her in your prayers along with her two other sisters, Angelina and Barbie. As well has both her father and I.

Jasmine was born on March 10, 1995 with Down Syndrome. She has a thryoid problem which she currently takes medication for. She had Open Heart Surgery on August 10, 1995. She has had several other surgeries as tonsils and adnoids removal, csys removal on her head, appenditics, and a few other. She also has allergies which she has to take medication every day for. In Jan. 2002 we were told she had ADHD and is currently on 2 differnt kinds of medication. Jasmine is a sweet and loving child. She is in 3rd grade this year the self-contained class. She is doing good. Please remember her and all children in your prayers. Also remeber her sisters Angelina and Barbie!!
