UPDATE; 6-10-02
Dear Friends,
I just spoke with Cheryl and she said
that Moriah was having blood pressure
and breathing problems last night, so
they took her to the emergency room.
She already had breathing treatments
at home...and when they gave her another
one at the hospital, her heart started
racing and then stopped. At that
point, she went to be with the Lord.
Cheryl and her family were able to
spend time with her, holding her, and praying.
Cheryl believes with everything in
her heart, that God's Word is true,
and just as Lazurus was called forth,
and as Jesus raised the dead, that
this is still true today for Moriah.
She continues to speak life to her,
in that the Word says He raises the
dead and heals the sick.
May the Lord be glorified!!
Thank you so much for your prayers.
Love In Christ,
Julie

UPDATE: 6-09-02
They have said that Moriah is gone....
Please continue to pray...God can raise the dead....
URGENT.....
Just received call..Moriah's heart has stopped.....
Please, Please, pray now......
Moriah has been taken to the local hospital. Her heart rate is
fast and her breathing is labored. That is all I know right now
and I will update as soon as I know something more.
Please start praying for her binding all illness and claiming
victory and healing for her. God will touch her if we pray and
believe.
Elizabeth
UPDATE: 6-04-02
Please keep pressing in for Moriah's breathing. Her lungs are clear
but for some reason she is labored in her breathing and her
02 levels are still down. Please keep her in prayer for easier
breathing and 02 levels to come up to 99 to 100 percent.
I am grateful for ALL of your prayers.
Cheryl Haney
UPDATE: 6-01-02
I just talked to Cheryl and she has asked that we
please pray for Moriah. She is started to get
"junky" and her airway is needing to be suctioned
out more. Cheryl wants to press in with prayer
right away, that this will clear up in the Name of
Jesus. Amen Thank you so much for your prayers.
Thank You Lord!
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 5-15-02
Dear Friends,
Moriah is doing great! She is starting to roll
around a bit and is playing with her toys.
Cheryl said that they are able to space out
the Tylenol now, instead of giving it to her
every 4 hours...so she feels that the pain is
subsiding. Also, she had her speaking valve
on for 5 hours today and she really enjoys
that. It is great to hear her little voice
of melody. :)
Cheryl has asked that we please pray for her
sinuses to clear up. She has had a lot of
mucous in her nose lately...and she certainly
doesn't like her nose being suctioned out.
Also, please pray for her continued healing.
She has an appointment next Tuesday to be
checked, and to get another appointment
for her stomas to be reversed. I will post
another update after we get those details.
Thank you so much for your prayers!
Thank You Lord!!
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 5-11-02
Dear Friends,
Praise God...Moriah is home! When the doctor
came in at noon to evaluate her, the fever
was gone and she was holding down her food.
What a wonderful Mother's Day present for
Cheryl...and a glorious answer to prayer. :)
God is so good!!
I will send another update on Monday to let
you know how she's doing as I will be out of
town tomorrow. Thank you so much for your
prayers. God bless you all.
Thank You Lord!!!
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 5-11-02
Dear Friends,
I just talked to Cheryl on the phone and they
have decided to keep Moriah at U.V.A. for now.
She has had some vomiting overnight and her
temp is around 100*, even after Tylenol 2 hours ago.
They will re-evaluate her at noon today, but
she was still vomiting a little while I was
on the phone. Cheryl says she is really
miserable with a back tooth that has been
trying to come in for several weeks. Her
gum is very swollen and you can see the
whole outline of the tooth...but it just
doesn't seem to want to break through.
Please pray that her fever will return to
normal, as well as her digestive system.
Also, that this tooth will come through
and her gums will heal.
She is feeling a little better as far as
her surgery site, and has started to move
her legs some...which she wasn't doing before.
Cheryl has also asked that we pray for
Moriah's sinuses to clear up. She has
been having a lot of congestion in that area too.
Thank you so much for your prayers!! I
cannot tell you enough how much it means
to us. God bless you all.
UPDATE: 5-10-02
Dear Friends,
I just talked to Cheryl and she said that Moriah
had a very fretful night. She is just taking
tylenol right now, as codeine and morphine didn't
seem to have any affect at all. Cheryl said
that she is very irritable and crying today
(which she never does).
Also while I was talking to Cheryl on the phone...
she started vomiting. Poor baby. Her bottom is
really swollen and red and she is in obvious
pain. Please join us in prayer for her peace
and comfort. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 5-9-02
Moriah's surgery went well and the doctors said
they were pleased and feel that it will hold this
time. If all continues to go well, she may go
home Saturday.
She is in a lot of pain from the surgery right
now so please intercede for her that God will
take her pain away and let her rest. We praise
God for what He has done and know that He will
continue to hear our prayers.
Thank you for your prayers. We will update you
again soon to keep you informed of her progress.
Please keep Cheryl covered in prayer as she
oversees her care.
God Bless,
Julie
UPDATE: 5-8-02
Dear Friends,
Moriah is at U.V.A. and is scheduled for
surgery at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
Before I left the hospital Moriah's doctor
came in to speak with Cheryl and check on Moriah...
He stated that after he reviewed her test
results that his main goal for surgery tomorrow
will be to re-connect her colon to her rectum
(which is also being surgically constructed).
His concern for her surgery is that her colon
is descended down far enough so that when they
do the surgical incision(creating a rectum),
that he will be able to attach the colon and
rectum without any problems.
We are praying that the surgery will hold
this time and heal completely, to the glory of God.
Also, please pray that her respiratory system
stays clear, and that she will have a normal
temperature.
I will post another update when she comes out
of surgery tomorrow. Thank you so much for your
prayers. Thank You Lord!!!
Julie
UPDATE: 5-04-02
Dear Friends,
We have many praise reports on Moriah since the last
time I sent an update. She is doing just great! God has
certainly given the increase, and we praise Him for it!!
Thank You Lord!!!
Here are some of her praise reports:
She is eating all her food by mouth now except her
midnight feeding.
Her weight is almost 21 lbs.
She is not on any medication except vitamins, DHA (fish oil
for her brain development), and a supplement for her immune
system.
She is playing a lot more and is taking notice her surroundings
and people’s faces a lot more too, even to the point of staying
awake (especially on trips) so she doesn‘t miss anything.
She has learned to scoot herself across the floor to get
where she wants, whether it be to her brother’s toys or
her pillow for sleeping.
She is also fussing back at her brother when he fusses at
her for getting his toys.
She is getting a lot more strength in her upper body and
is pushing off from things and sitting up with a lot more
strength in her back.
Her jaw is starting to come out and fill in where they
said she would need surgery (GOD IS GOOD:)
She is “yakkin away” when she has her speaking
valve on…and she even giggles at cartoons.
PRAYER NEEDS:
Please pray for her upcoming surgery on May 9th.
She will be going to U.V.A. on May 8th for preliminary
tests to determine how much repair needs to be done
from her previous rectum surgery as it did not hold.
We do not have a time yet on her actual surgery, but
I will post it as soon as the doctors let us know. They
want to repair this area first…let it heal…and then do
another surgery to re-connect her intestine and remove
the stomas.
Cheryl has asked that we pray in one accord for wisdom
and understanding for the doctors, protection and strength
for Moriah, and that minimal internal repair, if any, be
needed during Moriah’s surgery. We also ask for favor
on Moriah and for a quick recovery, in Jesus Precious Name!!
Lord, we thank You with all of our minds, hearts, and
souls for what You have done in Moriah’s life!!
And we give You all the praise, glory, and honor!!
You are our Mighty God!!!!
To our dear friends…thank you so much for joining with
us in prayer. It means a lot to us. We love you all.
God bless you.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 2-27-02
I wanted to give you an update for Moriah.
She went to the eye doctor today.
The doctor gave us a good report overall.
She did say that Moriah has a
stopped up tear duct in the left eye and
part on the right. She told us for
now just to do massages, to see if this
will open them up. If this does not
work, they will have to go in and open it
up. This has been the reason her
left eye waters so much.
We are praying that the tear ducts will
open up and nothing else needs to be
done. Moriah has been doing real good.
She is eating well during the day.
She now drinks from a little cup. She
gets this look of I'm a big girl now.
It is cute to watch her. She is also taking
more food by mouth at each feed.
She is eating about 3 oz. of baby food
and then taking in about 2 oz of
formula all by mouth at one feeding.
This is great. We PRAISE GOD for the
increase and look forward to more increase.
Love,
Cheryl
UPDATE: 2-15-02
Dear Friends,
Here is the latest on Moriah...
Praise:
Moriah is doing great. She is waving
"bye" to her nurse when she leaves at
the end of the day now!! Also, she
is having fun feeding herself these days.
Her weight has now hit the 20 lb.
mark, at 20lbs.1 oz. Praise God!! And she
is 29 1/2 inches tall. What a miracle
child!!!...as the doctor's said she
would never grow!!! Also, she is using
her speaking valve more, which is an
answer to a previous prayer request.
Prayer Needs:
Please pray for an upcoming surgery
that she is supposed to have. She is
going in on March 12th to see the
Cranial Face doctor. They want to break
her jaws and put pins in them to stretch
out one side and open her airway
more. Cheryl has noticed that her
jaw is extending on it's own, so let's
just keep pressing in that no surgery
will be needed.
Also, they have decided to postpone
her rectum surgery at this time. Her
doctor said that it could wait, and
doesn't want to put her through too much
at one time.
Thank you so much for your prayers!!
Thank You Lord, for answered prayer!!!!
God bless you all.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 1-31-02
Please pray for Moriah. She has not been able
to tolerate having her Trach capped lately. Also,
she is not speaking very much anymore when her
speaking valve is on her trach. She needs prayer
for strengthening of her throat muscles, and that
she would not only begin speaking more, but that
she will one day sing praises to the Lord with a
"voice of melody."
UPDATE: 1-21-02
Dear Friends,
Moriah is continuing to do good, and has increased
in weight and growth. She is at 19 lbs. 14 oz. and is
29 inches long. Pretty good for a baby that was not
supposed to thrive. Thank You Lord!
She has a stander now that her brother calls the "Sky-Walker."
He says it is only temporary until she starts walking.
Amen to that! She also has hot pink leg braces to keep
her ankles in alignment and a really cool little wheelchair
with her name on it.
As far as her recent doctor visits, she had a video
swallow done and they have found that she can
drink nectar consistency fluids. She is learning to
drink from a little medicine cup and she is eating
really good these days. Just about everything is
"staying down." Praise God. Also she is smiling
more and interacting a lot more with people and
the things going on around her.
Cheryl says she's fiesty. :)
Prayer Needs:
She visited her Cranial Face doctor and they want
to do surgery on her in May or June. They are
planning to break her jaws on both sides and put
a pin on one side to extend her jaw which in turn
would open her airway. The doctor said that it
was highly unlikely that her jaws would line up
on their own. Please pray for this situation. We
know God is able to correct this without surgery,
no matter what man says.
Also, she will be going back to U.V.A. in 3 weeks to
reassess her for surgery to re-attach the intestine,
and to plan for reconstructive surgery on her rectum.
We are praying that minimal repair, if anything, will
need to be done in this area. We are hoping that all
is needed is re-connecting of her intestine.
Praise Reports:
A Rehabilitation nurse that saw Moriah when she
was born, and gave her no hope for improvement,
saw her the other day. She just could not believe
how good she's doing and how far she has come...
thanks to our GREAT GOD and your loving prayers!
Please continue to pray for the manifestation of
total healing and wholeness for our little miracle girl!!
Thank you for your prayers. Thank You Lord!!
There's some new pics here too...and she'd love
to hear from you in her guestbook. :)

UPDATE: 1-17-02
Moriah is in need of special prayer. She has a fever
and her stats are fluctuating. We don't know what is
causing this but KNOW that God can intervene. We
ask you to join us in asking for His healing touch.
God bless you.
