A POEM FOR MORIAH
UPDATE: 12-16
PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!! I just talked to Cheryl
and she said that "suddenly" Moriah made a total
turn around, right around midnight. Her stats went
from the low 70's and fluctuating, to 99-100
steady, so they decided to wean her off oxygen
and she came off completely with no problems.
After this change, Dr. Strope, who is always very
cautious, asked Cheryl what she felt comfortable
with, whether she wanted to take her home or stay.
Cheryl said she trusted his opinion and he let
her go home. This is not usually his course of
action, so we know he had peace with it also.
Originally when Cheryl called 911 at about 8:30 p.m.,
Moriah's stats were dropping in the 70's. Her hands
and feet were already blue and she was very mottled
and turning blue. She had spiked a fever of
101.4 and was in distress. Cheryl said this all
happened very quickly. I was not home at the time
all this started happening and wasn't actually able
to start getting the prayer request out until
around 11 p.m., Cheryl said right around midnight,
which is about the time I started receiving prayer
responses back from people and different ministries,
she made a complete turn around. Cheryl said it was
like night and day.
Thank You All For Your Prayers!
And thank you to all that forwarded the request to
your lists and sites. I was really touched when I
realized that within an hour this request was going
out to thousands of people.....that is the body of
Christ working together. It truly blesses me. I had
peace and I know Cheryl did too, just knowing that
Moriah was covered in so much prayer Thank you SO
MUCH!!! Thank You Lord for the brothers and sisters
who are so faithful in serving You. Thank You Lord,
for answered prayer. We Praise You!
Right now Cheryl and Moriah are home. Moriah has
slept peacefully since they got home. She is on an
antibiotic as a precautionary measure. Cheryl said
she did not wake up coughing at all. She did try to
give her Pedialyte when she first came home and that
came right back up....so PLEASE PRAY that she will
be able to keep her feeds down today, and
PLEASE keep her covered for protection and
complete recovery from this whole episode. It is
hard on her when she goes through anything
different from her usual routine. PLEASE PRAY
for Cheryl also. She is very tired today, but
thankful! Love In Christ,
Julie
EMERGENCY UPDATE:12-15 11PM
PLEASE PRAY for Moriah, I got a call from Mike,
Beckyand Sarah but I wasn't home. It seems that
a lttle earlier this evening her G-Button came
out. Cheryl replacedit and about an hour later
she started turning blue.Cheryl called the EMT's
and they took her right to the hospital. Dr.
Strope is meeting them there. Mike said that
they stabilized her with oxygen an that is all
I know for right now. She was already having a
fever of 101* and has been vomiting and coughing
today. Will update when we know more.
UPDATE: 12-15 PM
Dear Friends,
I just talked to Cheryl and she said Moriah
is running a low grade fever, coughing a lot,
and has greenish mucous in her secretions. Cheryl
has called the doctor, so he is aware of what
is going on with her, and can decide about using
an antibiotic. With her being on a Trach, any
respiratory infection can be serious. PLEASE join
with me in covering her in prayer right now, that
no sickness can set iself up in her body
and claiming healing and the Blood of Jesus
over her. PLEASE stand in agreement with us
for health and wholeness. Thank you. Thank You
Father.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 12-15
Dear friends,
Praise God, Moriah is 13 lbs. 4 oz. We continue
to thank God for ALL the miracles that He has done
in her life over the last year as she approaches
her 1st birthday, a day that her parents were told
would never happen.
We have some new prayer requests for her that
we are asking you to join with us in lifting them
up to the Father. She went for her hearing tests
yesterday. They put her to sleep and checked for
brain wave activity. They said there was none.....
and that she cannot hear at all. She is going to
her pediatrician next Thursday and he will decide
about doing a Cat Scan to be able to tell more
about it, and to see if she has eardrums. We know
we serve a mighty God and we BELIEVE this is
just one more opportunity for His glory to be
manifested in her life. Praise God! We also serve
an Awesome God, and we trust that He created her
to be completely healed and walking in wholeness
glorifying His Name. Another request is that she
has no rectum at this time. (Believing for
God's Healing) He has provided a way for this
to be temporarily taken care of, and they are
planning to do surgery when she reaches 20
lbs. We are asking you to PLEASE join with us
in one accord, PRAYING, ASKING, and BELIEVING
that she has already receieved these miracles in
her body and that God will bring them to full
manifestation, according to the Truth of His
Word. She is doing good at home and her doctors
say that she looks good. She ate a whole jar of
baby food at one sitting the other day which
is good. We are praying that she will be able
to have the G-Button removed. I went to see her
and she is so beautiful. She is doing a lot of
new things and is getting a lot more muscle
strength. She was lifting her head up when
laying on her stomach and she is turning over. She
loves watching the things that are going on
around her and likes to smile. She is also
making noises now, which sound like little
duck quacks, but this is a great sign that
she is making sounds especially after her
last surgery to remove the callous from her
larynx. Her therapists are working with her
daily to improve motor, developmental, and
physical skills. She is a blessing!
PLEASE CONTINUE to press in and pray for
these things in her life including growth and
strength. We thank you for your prayers and
love you all. My personal request is to please
remember her birthday on Dec. 17, thanking God
for the miracle of her life. Also, you can
write to her mother, Cheryl, at cherylhaney@aol.com
if you would like to send a card, words of prayer,
or birthday greetings. Your prayers and love mean
so much!! Thank You Heavenly Father for blessing
us with this sweet little child and revealing Your
awesome touch through her life. We Praise You
and Thank You in Jesus Precious Name.. Amen
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 12-4
Dear friends,
Moriah continues to thrive at home. Cheryl
said she is to turning (rolling) over, reaching
for toys, eating 40 ccs. at a time, is
getting 6 new teeth, and has learned to smack
her lips. She really likes her last new trick,
she grins after she does it. Also she sleeps
through the night every night. :)
Moriah has had a lot of doctor appointments
recently and her pediatrician says she looks
really good. Her nurses and health
care providers are working with her in
physical, speech, and occupational
therapy, and they are concentrating
especially hard on her motor skills.
Also they are working the muscles in
her neck, throat, and tongue and
would like her to be able to get up
to 110 ccs. per feeding so they can
remove the G-Button.
She has been assessed her at 4-5
months and she is learning new things
all the time. She is doing very good
on her breathing and does not have to be
suctioned as much, and has been able to
stop her breathing treatments. Also, she
has been going to church and doesn't seem
to get over stimulated at all. The only
thing that makes her upset is for someone
to wake her up before she's ready to get up.
She has an appointment on Dec. 12 for her
eyesight and hearing. PLEASE PRAY that she
does well in these areas. Cheryl has asked
that we continue to pray for strength and
growth and that she will stay healthy
with no colds.. She is up to 13 lbs.1 oz.
We are focusing on her eyesight, hearing,
growth, strength (especially in neck and
throat area), and feeding. ALSO....PRAISE
GOD!! Her first Birthday is coming up Dec. 17.
This is truly a celebration as the doctors
said she would not live to see this
day. Our sweet little angel continues to
amaze everyone. If you would like to send
Birthday greetings you can send them to
cherylhaney@aol.com or you an add them to
her Guestbook
http://pathwaytothecross.org/moriah.html
which will be there for her to look at and
enjoy all her life. It is on the Special Needs
site for children. There should be new
pictures soon. Cheryl is finishing up the
roll and we will be getting them on
in a few days. Thank you ALL for your
continued prayers. I know you are all
part of the miracles in her life through
prayer. God Bless You. THANK YOU HEAVENLY
FATHER!! WE PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME!!
Also Becky, Moriah's sister got her tests
results back from the doctor. She does have
an irregular heartbeat but her treadmill test
was perfect. They do not detect any signs
of heart disease and will be keeping an eye
on her. Thank you for your prayers. Happy Holidays!
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 11-21
Moriah is doing really well at home. I ask
that the prayer warriors continue to pray
for her strength and her wholeness in Jesus
Name. I am still waiting on the total
manifestation of her healing. We are working
on her taking the bottle at each feed along
with giving her baby food. She seems to enjoy
this time together as I play with her to keep
her relaxed when she takes the bottle. She goes
back to see Dr. Strope on Monday for a check up.
We have so many doctor appointments, not to even
to speak of the nurses and therapist that are
coming and going from the house. I thought that
I lived in the fast lane when she was at the
hospital, that was nothing to what is now! I know
that God will keep me in strength, peace, joy,
and of a sound mind, for He is faithful to His
children. Well, I need to close for now I must
get a bottle ready That sounds sooooooo good
and it feels good too! Thank you for all the
prayers and support! It means so much to me.
In His Service
Cheryl
UPDATE: 11-17
Praise God! Moriah is home and she is doing great.
Her weight is 13 lbs. and she is 24 inches long. She
sleeps all night and really doesn't like anyone to
wake her up until she's ready to get up. :) Cheryl
said that is the only time that she has cried since
she's been home. She had her first pediatrician
appointment today. The doctor seems to be really
thorough, and he is setting appointments up for
all of her needs with specialists. They are really
enjoying her being home. She has started to flip
herself completely over and she has started reaching
for things. Still her favorite pastime is sucking her
hands and admiring them. One of her nurses used to
work with physical therapists, so she is doing a
lot with her in that respect. She is thriving!
Thank You Lord! PLEASE continue to pray for complete
wholeness and protection for Moriah.
Also, Moriah's sister, Becky had the heart monitor
on for 24 hours. They called and said that it didn't
come out right and they didn't like the results, so
they will be re-testing tomorrow. Please keep this
in prayer. We appreciate all of you so much! Thank
You Father, for the body of Christ.
UPDATE: 11-13
DRUM ROLL, DRUM ROLL, DRUM ROLL....
Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,
PRAISES AND THANKSGIVING TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER!!
\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/\o/
AT LONG LAST.....
MORIAH WILL BE COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!
I talked to Cheryl a little while ago and
she said she just feels numb. She is between
laughing, crying, shouting, and jumping for joy.
For all of you that have been following her
progress, or have just started to keep up with
her..... This is a baby that they said would not
survive, never see, never hear, never eat, never
suck a bottle, never survive a surgery, and
basically gave her no hope in her life.
THANK GOD, WE SERVE A MIGHTY GOD. She sees,
hears, eats, drinks, has survived 6 surgeries
(including open heart surgery) and plays with
her toys, sucks her thumb, watches what's going
on around her, like bananas, and SMILES at her
parents. This is a day that we have all waited
for. Cheryl has been driving (30-40 minutes) to
the hospital every night for the last nine
months, and many nights Mike drives there too,
even with his working schedule. This will be
a BLESSING AND A JOY to have her home. Cheryl
said that they have gotten all the equipment,
and the nurses are all set up. They will be
picking her up tomorrow and coming right home.
The doctor doesn't want her to be over
stimulated with all of her new environment
that she has to check out. She will be 11
months old on November 17 and has only been
home for about 1 month of her life, so
this is a day to REJOICE!! I will write
again tomorrow and let you all know how the
"HOMECOMING (sounds good) goes. We are just SO
EXCITED!!!
UPDATE: 11-7
Julie:
I talked with Moriah's nurse today the doctor
wanted to go down on her oxygen level and when
they did her stats dipped down to the 80's so
they had to leave the oxygen level at 27%. We
need wholeness now! Her lungs need to be
made whole in Jesus Name. I will call you
later. I am waiting to hear from the
equipment company and I need to go vote.
Love you.
Cheryl
UPDATE: 11-6
Dear Prayer Partners,
I talked to Cheryl a little while ago and
here is the latest update for Moriah. It has
been determined by Dr. Strope that she has
tracheal bronchitis. She is still on 30%
oxygen, and her stats are back up to 99-100%.
She will not be coming home tomorrow as
planned, but Dr Strope says there is a
50/50 chance for Thursday. He would rather
error on the side of caution, and doesn't
want any possibility of a set back. Moriah
is receiving breath treatments every 4 hrs,
and chest PT every 8 hrs.
Her weight remains unchanged at 12 lbs. 4oz.
and they have started her back on her feeds.
Cheryl has asked that we continue to pray for
her body to be strengthened and for complete
wholeness. Also, PLEASE PRAY for her lungs to
completely clear so she can go home. It's time.
Thank you for your prayers! Thank You, Heavenly
Father. We love You, Lord.
