A POEM FOR MORIAH
Another Poem for Moriah
UPDATE: 1-16 PM
Dear Friends,
Praise God!! I told you earlier that I would send
out another update later today with God's report on
Moriah, and it's a GOOD REPORT!! Thank You Lord!
Cheryl said right before they went into his office,
Moriah's color turned pink and she was looking
about as healthy as you can get. Cheryl said it
almost made her feel ridiculous..lol ..Little
Miss Moriah was just doing great for her sick
appointment. :) And that is a GREAT THING. The
doctor said her lungs sounded fine, color looked
good, and all he noticed was a stuffy nose. God
is GOOD. Thank you to all the prayer partners that
wrote and said you were praying hard. God
is always Faithful! \o/\o/\o/ Thank you for
your prayers. Thank You Lord!!!
PLEASE CONTINUE to remember her in your prayers,
especially for a miracle in her little body for a
rectum and colon. AND for continued strength and
growth. Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 1-16
I just talked to Cheryl and she said that Moriah
has not been doing well these past few days. She
as been spitting up, has had increased secretions,
a stuffy nose, diarrhea, cough, and a fever. She
slept yesterday all day until 3 a.m. this morning.
Right now she is on 60% oxygen so that she is able
to rest. Cheryl said she can take her off and
her stats only drop a little but she is much more
comfortable being on it. She has a Dr. appt. at
2:30 p.m. today. Cheryl has noticed that every
time she is to give her testimony or begins to
press in, in prayer for Spiritual warfare for
another, these things start to happen. She began
to pray for another sister in Christ
(that is experiencing a major attack) Friday
night....the same night all this started happening.
So PLEASE PRAY for protection from the
enemy, and PLEASE PRAY FOR a healing touch
from our Heavenly Father.
UPDATE: 1-12
Dear Friends,
I write this update on Moriah tonight with JOY
in my heart. She received ALL good reports this
week from her doctors appointments. Dr
Strope said she looked very good. Her G.I. Doctor
is planning on re-testing her on her swallow study
and her process of digestion, BUT THE BEST
REPORT IS HER EYES. At birth they said she may
not be able to see at all, or if she could, it
may not be much because she was unresponsive to
light. In the early months of her life she did
not focus on things very well, except her hands..
she's always loved them. :) A couple of months
before she came home from the hospital, this
same eye doctor that she saw today examined her
and put up a report on the bulletin board next to
her bed. It said Moriah was cross-eyed. Cheryl
went to the hospital, saw the report, and took it
down. She said I don't receive that report for
Moriah and I'm not claiming it. I will BELIEVE
God's report.
WELL.....TODAY ....this doctor had to write a
new report!! MORIAH'S EYES ARE PERFECTLY HEALTHY!!
PRAISE GOD PRAISE GOD! Guess we KNOW who's
LIGHT she does repond to! :)
I went to see her this week and she looked
more beautiful than I have ever seen her. She
was watching me talk to her and looking from
my mouth to my eyes. Her skin is so pretty and
she's just a DOLL. She is holding her head up
all by herself and sitting up good too, when you
hold her around the waist. She was playing with
her toys over her bed and swinging her hands at
them. She even took a snooze on my lap.
Also she is learning to communicate!! This is so
exciting. She began to make little quacking sounds.
At first we thought it was just something she liked
to do, but NOW we are seeing that she is associating
it with things and people. For instance, she quacked
up a storm (and cried) at the eye doctor. She didn't
like him messing with her, but she also does
it just to talk to people. OH WHAT A JOY!! GOD IS
TRULY AMAZING. SEEING HER IS LIKE BEING IN HIS PEACE.
Her weight is now 14 lbs. 2 oz. Cheryl did say she's
trying to get a cold it seems, so PLEASE PRAY against
that, and PLEASE remember to hold her up before the
Lord for wholeness of her colon, rectum, and
digestive system. Thank YOU ALL SO MUCH! WE FEEL
YOU ARE ALL PART OF HER MIRACLE LIFE.
http://pathwaytothecross.org/moriah.html
LORD, WE MOST HUMBLY THANK YOU, IN JESUS NAME!
Love in Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 1-8
Dear Friends,
Moriah is doing a lot better today than she has
been for the last couple of days. She went back on
the Reglan. (a med. for reflux) The doctor tried to
take her off, but she was continuing to spit up and her
throat got very sore. She was refusing to eat. Cheryl
started her back on it, and said today she is doing
fine. She is starting to play again. :) She has 3 doctor
appointments this week. One is for her eyes, one is
gastro-intestinal, and one is Dr. Strope for a re-check.
PLEASE keep her in prayer for God's favor to be on her
with a good report. Also, PLEASE PLEASE
CONTINUE TO PRAY for a miracle in her little
body, that she will not have to go through this
major surgery. We are BELIEVING for God to create
a rectum and colon for her. We KNOWHis Word is
TRUE..and Jesus said, Didn't I tell you if you
would only BELIEVE that you would SEE the Glory
of God. Lord, we are BELIEVING to see Your
Glory in her life, as we already have. We are praying,
asking, and believing that she has already received it,
by the stripes of Jesus. Lord, we pray for the
manifestation of Your Glory in her life. We humbly
thank You, praise You, and love You!
Thank you ALL for continuing to stand with us
in prayer. May God bless you each and every one.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 1-6
Dear Friends,
I talked to Cheryl a little while ago, and she
said that Moriah has been unusually tired today
and has been spitting up. She just has her on
formula for the day and is taking it very easy.
PLEASE continue to keep her in your prayers.
Thank you so much.
UPDATE: 1-3-2001
Dear Friends,
Praise God....Moriah's doctor appointment was
today and he said that she has done "remarkable."
He could not believe that she went from
13lbs...... to 13 lbs.13 oz. in just two weeks,
especially with having the RSV during that time.
He expected that she would have lost weight. Also,
he was equally amazed that she came off of oxygen
completely within a week of being so sick. He said
it usually takes months to recover, but he was very
pleased with her progress and looks. A funny thing
was that she was not as impressed with his :)...she
took one look at him and then looked at Cheryl, and
then looked at him and started crying. Cheryl said
that is the first time that she has recognized
someone as a stranger and knew she didn't like
him messing with her. We are sorry that she
didn't like him, :( but happy that she's moving
right along. :)
Now, for what was done..the doctor took her
off of Reglan. Cheryl was happy about that because
it did cause some muscle contractions in her
body. He is weaning her off some of her other
meds too. Also, she got all of her shots today
including a flu shot and a TB test, so she's a
little irritable tonight. She will be going for
an eye test on the 12th of January, so PLEASE
PRAY for strength in her eyes and that her
sight will be completely whole. She is also
getting ready to cut some teeth so
that's exciting....to us anyway.
MIRACLE NEEDED!!!
NOW FOR THE BIG PRAYER REQUEST....We need a
creative miracle for Moriah. When she was born
she did not have a rectum. Up until now God
has provided another way...BUT as she gets a
little older, (20 lbs.) something is going to
have to be done. The doctors have been
discussing this and have said that it will
be a MAJOR, "RISKY" SURGERY FOR HER,
which will involve completely constructing
a colon and rectum, and using a colostomy bag
for fear of infection) until she heals from
the surgery.. She has had a lot of trouble
with scar tissue in the past, so that is a
concern too. She needs prayer!
We have come this far and she has been through
so much, we are asking for you all to join us
in prayer that the "Head Physician", Jesus, will
re-create a rectum for her. In other words, we
are asking for a MIRACLE. God has performed
many in her life already, and His Word says in
Mark 9:23...Jesus said unto him, If thou canst
believe, ALL things are possible to him that
believeth. We know that nothing is too hard
for the Creator of the universe, and we know
that He is the Author and Finisher, and will
complete a good work in Moriah. PLEASE PRAY
AND BELIEVE with us. We thank ALL of you that
having been taking part in 24/7 prayer
intercession, and ALL of you that have been
remembering her in your prayers. PLEASE CONTINUE
TO PRAY FOR HER....Your prayers have made a
huge difference in her life and she is a
testimony to the glory of God. THANK YOU!!!
Heavenly Father, We humbly thank You,
praise You and love You! If you are just
hearing about Moriah..her pictures and story
are at:
http://pathwaytothecross.org/specialneeds.html
She has been a true miracle, as her parents
were told that she would only live a few weeks.
She is an amazement to everyone that sees
her! Thank You God..she's a blessing to us all.
Love In Christ, Julie
UPDATE: 12-28
Dear Friends,
I hope you had a most joyous holiday! I have
a Praise Report today for Moriah, so that has
definitely put a smile on my face. :) She is
doing much better. I talked to Cheryl earlier
today and she said Moriah is eating so good
that she is even waking up at 3 a.m., sucking
her hands, and wanting to eat. She was able to
take Moriah off of oxygen completely from 3 p.m
to 10 p.m. with no problems, but put her back on at
number 2 at night just to let her rest. Also,
her temperature is back to normal. She is playing
a lot more and she is awake for longer periods of
time during the day. Praise God! Your prayers mean
so much to us! Thank You Lord.
Cheryl said her left lung still needs complete
healing and has asked that we focus on that, along
with strength and protection. Moriah has a
Dr. appt. the first week of January. We are
praying for her lungs to be completely healed
and clear to the glory of God, and a testimony
of all the prayers of our faithful brothers
and sisters in Christ. PLEASE continue to pray
for her so that she is covered in protection.
Again we would like to thank you ALL! God Bless You.
Thank You Heavenly Father. We Praise Your Holy Name.
Love In Christ, Julie
UPDATE: 12-24
Merry Christmas from Moriah, Cheryl, Mike,
Chris, Becky, Sarah, Caleb, and Julie
(the adopted family member :)
I just talked to Cheryl and she said that
she is seeing small improvements in Moriah
every day, however she is still very weak.
She is alert and will play for a little while
and then just goes off to sleep. Cheryl said
that she got her to eat 30 ccs.of bananas today
twice. That is the first time she has eaten
solid food since she's been sick, with
the exception of once last week for the nurse.
Cheryl said she took her off the oxygen a
little bit but put her back on when her stats
went into the 80's while sleeping. She said that
the fluid in her lungs has been moderate and
that they sound better but still need healing.
PLEASE PRAY for her lungs, strength, the ability
to come off oxygen, her immune system (because it
has been weakened), and complete wholeness.
Thank you all so much for including Moriah in
your prayers. May God richly bless you. We are
so thankful!!! Lord, we love You andthank You
in Jesus Precious Name.
Lord, thank You for the PRECIOUS GIFT OF LIFE!!
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 12-22
I went with Don and Elizabeth (host of Global
Prayer and the Special Needs Site for Children)
and visited Moriah yesterday. We also visited
another little sweetheart in our area named
Lyndsay that was born with Trisomy 18, just
like Moriah. Lyndsay tested positive also for
RSV, within a couple of weeks before Moriah
tested positive. Lyndsay is still on oxygen
and needs prayer for complete recovery from
this, if you would like to include her in your
prayers along with Moriah, we would really
appreciate it. There will be pictures of both
children on the Special Needs site within a
few days and I will send out the URL when they
are posted.
Moriah is showing some improvement, but you
can tell she has been one sick little girl.
Good news....she sucked her thumb for the
first time yesterday since she's been sick.
Also Cheryl said that she woke up hungry
yesterday morning. Praise God for these
improvements!
Please Continue to pray. She still seems to
have a lot of junky stuff in her lungs and
NEEDS PRAYER for healing from earlier damage
and this RSV. She needs prayer also for
strength, the ability to hold down all of her
feeds, to be able to come off oxygen, and to
generally "just feel better" Thank you so much.
Cheryl said she can feel all your prayers.....
through seeing changes in Moriah, to just having
the peace of knowing that she's being covered.
God Bless. Thank You Lord.
Thank you for all of you that are responding to
the call for 24/7 intercession. I will be posting
the times that are still open later today, along
with a new update, after I talk to Cheryl. I would
say that at least 3/4's of the time is covered.
Praise God! Thank You!

UPDATE:12-20
Thank you for the great response to 24/7
intercession for Moriah. I cannot tell you enough
what it means to her family to know they are being
covered in prayer after hearing the news of this
serious condition called RSV, that she tested
positive for earlier this week.
I talked to Cheryl this morning and she said that
Moriah is resting a little more. Her breathing
continues to be labored, but does not seem as
bad. Her heart rate is still elevated, but
steady. Her stats are continuing to fluctuate a
little, but they are staying closer to the 90's
which is good. Also, she does not have a fever now.
Cheryl said that she gave her a breathing
treatment this morning and got a lot of junky
stuff out of her lungs. She seems to have the most
trouble with her left lower lung, as it has given
her trouble in the past, and it was perforated in
the early months of her life. She especially needs
healing in this lung. PLEASE continue to pray for
lung strength, complete healing of the RSV, the
ability to rest, and the ability to keep her feeds
down. She still needs much prayer. Cheryl did
say that her color looks better today, and she
doesn't seem as irritable. I will keep you all
posted as to her progress. Thank you all.....Thank
You Lord that You are her Healer!
We are hoping to keep her covered in prayer,
especially during this time, since one of her
doctors said it is usually fatal in children with
compromised breathing such as Moriah has, which
is only through her Trach. We are putting her in
God's hands and believing for a good report. As
far as the 24/7 prayer, a lot of the time has been
filled. :) The remaining time to be filled is 12
a.m to 5 a.m., 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m to
9:30 p.m., and 4:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is all
done according to Eastern Standard Time. If you
would like to join with us during a specific time,
please let me know. We really appreciate all
your prayers.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 12-18 pm
Dear Friends,
I just talked to Cheryl. She got home from
the doctor about 45 minutes ago. She has asked
that we PRAY HARD for Moriah. It seems she has
tested positive for RSV which is a Respiratory
Virus. It is hard on little ones, especially if
they are compromised in their breathing
anyway, and it can be very dangerous. The Doctor
did order her oxygen to have at home and a stats
machine (for lack of the proper name) to
determine the oxygen level in her body. Cheryl
does feel better having this at home.
She said that Moriah's stats are fluctuating
again. PLEASE CONTINUE TO HOLD HER UP IN PRAYER....
This is an immediate need, since she is
only breathing through her Trach. Moriah does
have to go back to see Dr. Strope tomorrow. He
was talking of admitting her today, but
there were no open beds. Thank You so much
for your prayers!!! It means so much to
us. God Bless. Thank You Heavenly Father
that You hear and answer the prayers of
Your children.
Also, if you would like to join us in 24/7
Intercessory prayer for Moriah, please send
me a time that is convenient for you. Right
now 7 and 7:30 P.M. is covered. Thanks Again.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 12-18
Dear Friends,
I just talked to Cheryl a little while ago
and she said that Moriah is still not back to
her usual self. She is resting a little better
today, but she still appears to be having shallow
breathing. The nurse that comes during the week
was not satisfied with her appearance either, and
her temp is 101.7, so they will be taking her in
to see Dr. Strope at 2:30 this afternoon. Cheryl
has asked that we please continue to keep her in
prayer. Also, another prayer partner (ministry)
has written to me suggesting that we have 24/7
intercession for Moriah. This has been on our
hearts also for some time. If anyone would like
to take part in 24 hour intercession for Moriah,
please write to me with a time, in which you
would be willing to cover her, and I will write
down the times that are covered by prayer partners.
We are praying that we will be able to hold
her up before the Lord, night and day for His
touch on her life for complete healing and wholeness.
She needs a breakthrough for complete restoration.
Thank you ALL, for each and every prayer that goes
out for her. I will write again this afternoon
and let you know what the doctor has determined
from their visit. Thank You Father, for your
touch on every second of the day. We love You,
Lord! God Bless. Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 12-17
Dear Friends,
I just called and talked to Cheryl to wish
Moriah a Happy Birthday and see how she was doing.
Cheryl asked that we continue to pray for her.
She said Moriah still seems to be getting over
this episode of not feeling well. She
said that yesterday Moriah had periods of
shallow breathing and getting mottled.
Today she said it has been steady that
Moriah is having more labored breathing as
far as it being shallow and not the usual
deep breathing. PLEASE PRAY for strength in
her body, her lungs, and continued prayer
for complete healing, so she can be her
happy little self again. Her secretions have
been clear so that is good. Her heart rate has
been around 126, which is about right, but
Cheryl said she just does not have peace with
her breathing. We always feel better knowing
that her family in Christ is keeping her covered
in prayer. Thank you! God Bless...Thank
You Father.
Love In Christ,
Julie
