Another Poem for Moriah






UPDATE: 2-6

Dear friends,
I talked to Cheryl yesterday after Moriah 
went to see Dr. Strope. Praise God, her weight 
is up to 14lbs. 13 oz. Dr. Strope said her lungs
sounded really good. She is starting to sit up 
and play more, and.......Great News :), Cheryl 
and her nurse heard her voice yesterday for the
first time. They were in the kitchen, and they 
both heard it. Previously, she had just been 
making little sounds, but Cheryl said this was
definitely her voice. She must have gotten 
lonely and was calling them, :).....SO
we are really excited about that!!! Thank 
You Lord..still believing for a voice of melody.
Today she has gone for a video swallow study 
because she is still having some problems 
keeping her food down. PLEASE pray that 
nothing will be hidden so that they will 
find exactly what the problem is. Next
week she will be going to a feeding clinic 
to help with this. Also, her speech therapist 
is working very hard on the muscles of her jaws, 
neck, throat, mouth, and tongue. They need to 
be strengthened to help her with eating.
So the main focus for prayer is her whole 
digestive system including her colon and 
rectum.They will be meeting with a surgeon 
next week to discuss surgery on her stomach 
as a solution to the reflux. PLEASE keep
her in your prayers. Thank you so much!!

UPDATE: 2-1

PRAISES FOR MORIAH:
Little Miss Moriah has not been satisfied lately 
unless she is taking part in the action and knows 
what's going on....she is lifting herself up and 
flipping over. Today she actually sat up ALL BY 
HERSELF for 40 seconds!! This is a definite praise 
report because her muscles were very "squishy" 
when she came home from the hospital. She did 
not seem to have a lot of support in her muscles, 
but through your prayers, therapy, and God....
she is getting STRONGER EVERY DAY!! Thank you 
Father! She was having a little trouble keeping 
down her feeds after the doctor changed meds, 
but Cheryl said she did good last night and today.
PLEASE continue to pray for a miracle for her 
colon and rectum, and for continued strength 
and growth. :) Thank you!! Lord, we love You 
and we praise Your Mighty Name.

UPDATE: 1-26

Dear friends,
God is so good!! Moriah went to her G.I. 
doctor yesterday. He said she may be having 
stomach spasms instead of reflux. He has taken 
her off Reglan and put her on a new med. He 
said that she looked really good. She is back 
to eating baby food now, and her weight is 
14 lbs. 6 oz. They will be doing another 
swallow study at a later date. The
doctor did say that her quaking sounds 
and little crying sounds are a clear
indication that air is passing hough 
her nose and mouth. THIS IS GREAT
NEWS!! Thank You, Lord. Also, since so 
many people find it hard to believe that 
she doesn't hear, including health care 
providers, so they have decided to
re-test her.  PLEASE pray for a GOOD 
REPORT.



Cheryl said she is so happy lately. 
She's been smiling, playing with her toys, 
and wanting to sit up all the time. She's 
getting to be a big girl and is not happy 
lying down. :) She's pulling herself up, 
and is flipping over. What a JOY!

PLEASE, PLEASE continue to pray for her 
colon and rectum...complete wholeness. They 
will need to do something by the time she is 
20 lbs., and at this rate, it won't be long. :)
Last time  we sent an update we stood on the 
promise, together, that God would bless her 
food and water and that it would be a benefit to
her body. Well, God honored that promise and 
she is eating much better and holding down her 
feeds. Thank You Father! Love to all,

UPDATE: 1-21

Dear friends,
I talked to Cheryl after they got the results 
from her swallow study. She said that Moriah does 
have a problem with reflux. Also, 5 hours after 
she has had 110 ccs.of formula, she still has 10-15 ccs.
in her stomach....so prayer is needed for better 
digestion. They are looking at options to tighten 
a little muscle in the opening of her stomach, to
keep her from having reflux. This involves surgery. 
Cheryl just found out a new procedure that they are 
doing, that involves going through the mouth and 
using stitches to tighten the opening to her stomach.
Obviously, we would rather Moriah not have to go 
through any of this. PLEASE PRAY for her whole 
digestive system, according to Exodus 23:25,
that God will bless Moriah's food and water, 
and we are praying that it will be a benefit to 
her body. We are claiming this Scripture
and speaking it over her. She has been feeling 
good though, and actively playing with her
toys. SO SWEET!! Also, PLEASE continue to pray 
for her hearing, rectum, and colon. Complete 
wholeness, Father, we are asking for complete 
wholeness in the Name of Jesus.

Thank you all for your prayers!!! They mean so 
much to us! Thank You Lord!! We love You and 
we Praise You!!

UPDATE: 1-19

PRAISES TO GOD!!!!

Dear Friends,
THIS IS SUCH GREAT NEWS!!!  As some of you know 
that have been following Moriah's progress, she 
had surgery to remove callous on her Larynx a
while back. It developed from acid reflux and 
it kept air from passing through her nose and 
mouth. That, in turn, keeps her from making
any sounds.....other than her recent little 
quacking sounds. :)  Since the surgery, a few 
months ago, she still was not making any sounds
at all until then.  Well, the other day, Cheryl 
said she was crying, which you can usually only 
tell from her facial expressions, and Cheryl
heard these little noises..and she was INDEED 
CRYING where she could be heard!!!  Cheryl said 
she just about passed out! What a blessing
to hear a child cry!!! That means air is being 
pushed through, and the sounds are coming over 
and above the Trach!!! Our little girl will be
singing with a voice of melody soon! 
I'm claiming  it!!! ..from Isaiah 51:3
Amen!! PRAISE GOD!! THANK YOU FATHER!!! 
It also means if she can start to breathe 
through her nose and mouth, (has only been 
breathing through Trach) then the Trach could 
come out.

Also, she is having her swallow study done today 
to see the emptying of her stomach and to follow 
her digestive process. We are PRAYING
that she will get the G-Button out soon.
She will be having another test on her hearing
to see whats actually going on inside her ears 
and brain, and to see if she has eardrums. Her
last test said she does not have any hearing 
activity at all going on in her brain. Many people 
that are around her, including nurses, find this
hard to believe. AGAIN, WE WAIT FOR 
GOD'S REPORT.

PLEASE PRAY for a good report, and continued 
prayer is needed for her colon, rectum, and 
continued strength and growth. Cheryl said 
she's smiling up a storm and playing with her 
toys. She is a good-natured beautiful little 
girl and we love her so much. Thank You
Father for this blessing!!!!!!!!!!!
