UPDATE: 3-9
Dear Friends,
I just talked to Cheryl and she said that
Moriah has been throwing up her food again. She
checked last night through the G-button and
found that even after 3 hours, she has at least
half of the original amount of food or more,
still in her stomach. It just does not seem to
be moving through her body as it should. The
doctors have taken her off one of the medications
that could be causing some of this. She also had
a dry diaper when she woke up today, which is
unusual. Again, this may be attributed to the
medicine, but we are not 100% sure. Cheryl has
had a hard time finding a formula that agrees
with her. Moriah's weight has dropped down to
14 lbs. 14 oz. It is never good for her to lose
any weight, as this is something that they say
is a problem area for babies with Trisomy 18.
We continue to stand on God's Word that says He
will bless her food and water, and that it will
be a benefit to her body. Please stand with us
in this. Thank you for your prayers. :)
IMPORTANT:
Please continue to pray for a miracle for her
colon and rectum. Lord, we know You are able.
We praise Your Holy Name, and we thank You
for this precious little girl, that You have
blessed us with...Please touch her Lord, and
bring complete wholeness to her little body.
We love
You, Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 3-5
Moriah
I have a WONDERFUL PRAISE report for Moriah.
Cheryl called me on the phone and said I have
someone that would like to say "Hi"...I
waited and all of a sudden.....I HEARD MY
LITTLE DOLL'S "VOICE OF MELODY" that I
have been waiting for..It was the sweetest
voice that I have ever heard. Three times I
heard her making baby sounds with her voice.
PRAISE GOD, this means that there is no damage
to her vocal cords from her previous
history of surgery and being on the vent
and Trach. SO BEAUTIFUL!! Thank
You Lord!!
Also, she is eating really good now by mouth.
She weighs 15 lbs. 2 oz. She looks just beautiful.
Her hair is really growing in, and ALSO....she
got her first tooth. She's just so beautiful. :)
IMPORTANT PRAYER REQUEST FOR HER:
PLEASE PRAY for her colon and rectum.
She is scheduled to go in to have a date set
for surgery. This will be a major surgery to
reconstruct a colon and rectum, and she has
been through so much already. PLEASE join
with us in praying for a miracle for her.
Thank you so much. I will keep you posted.
God Bless.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 2-26
Dear friends,
I just talked to Cheryl and she said that
Moriah spiked a fever of 103* earlier today,
and her lungs sound junky. She is very unsettled
and not feeling well. Cheryl took her to one
of her doctors earlier today and her CBC count
was 58, so they were "not concerned with her lungs
filling up with fluid". However, she was already
on a very strong antibiotic from her visit to
the doctor at the end of last week. They had
given it to her as a precautionary measure in
case she had aspirated. Cheryl is also waiting
for a call from Dr. Strope, to see if he wants her
to bring her in to be checked. PLEASE PRAY FOR
HER. Thank you so much. God Bless. Thank You Lord.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 2-21
Dear friends,
PLEASE PRAY for Moriah. It seems that she
may have aspirated on a little food. Her
stats have been lower today, and she seems
to have congestion in her lungs and a low
grade fever. Cheryl said she also had some
mucous in her nose that was not clear. We
need to address all of this in prayer at
the start. The doctor said that it sounded
like aspiration was a possibility, and told
Cheryl to hold off any feedings by mouth.
She is strictly on Pedialyte right now.
PLEASE let's lift these needs before
the Lord. And PLEASE pray for a miracle
for her colon and rectum. They are looking
to schedule surgery when she goes to the
doctor on March 13th. Thank you SO MUCH
for your prayers. THANK YOU LORD! God
Bless.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 2-14
Dear friends,
Praise God!!! Moriah is taking all of her daytime
feeds by mouth!!! This is GREAT! Cheryl said she
only gives her the "middle of the night", and
"early morning" feed through the tube.....and
this is because she is just too sleepy to eat.
She needs a lot of beauty rest. :) She
has a BIG future ahead of her...telling what
God has done!
She went to the doctor earlier this week and they
did some x-rays of her neck and spine. They are
considering using a neck brace on her at night
to keep her head in alignment. She has a tendency
to tilt her head to one side. Also, they will be
making her some little hand splints to use at night
while sleeping. It is characteristic of Trisomy for
the fingers on the hands to turn out. Her hands
have straightened out remarkably, but they want
to make sure that they stay that way since she
clenches her hands in a fist while sleeping. We
will let you know when the x-rays come back what
the final outcome is about the brace and splints.
NOW FOR THE BIGGIE!! The doctors are planning to
schedule her for surgery in the middle of March to
put in a colostromy bag. This would be a two part
surgery. First, to put in the bag.....then, to do
reconstructive surgery to build a colon and rectum.
THIS IS A MAJOR SURGERY. She has been through so
much already. PLEASE PRAY FOR A MIRACLE!! We are
praying that God will intervene and NO surgery
will be needed. PLEASE join with us in that prayer!
As far as her other progress...she is one happy
little girl. The doctors are very impressed with
how she is doing. She is playing with her toys
and I even saw her do Patty-Cake with Cheryl.....
Cheryl put her own hands together while saying
Patty-Cake, and Moriah followed suit. :)
What a JOY! She is very active and continues to
thrive. Praise God!!
Thank You Father!!
Thank you for your prayers.
Love In Christ,
Julie
UPDATE: 2-9
Dear friends,
PRAISE GOD!!!!! As many of you know, we
have been requesting prayer for Moriah to be
able to keep her food down and to be able to eat
all meals by mouth. She has a G-Button and even
with that, she was still having trouble with
keeping food down. Moriah is scheduled to see a
doctor on Monday to discuss stomach surgery.
The most she has ever been able to take by
mouth is about 30 cc. Well, today when I went
to visit her, Cheryl started feeding her spinach
(<--- I'd even have trouble with that one..lol )
and plums. She did so good with that, that Cheryl
went ahead and mixed up her formula in a "sippy
cup" and she ended up taking the whole 110 ccs.
by mouth. She held every bit down, and was about
as content as she could be. It is the first time
since she's been BORN (almost 14 months old now)
that she has taken a whole feeding by mouth..along
with a little prayer :) AND....Cheryl called and
said she took all of her formula out of the cup
tonight too, and has kept every bit down. THANK
YOU LORD!! Please pray for continued success
with this, as it would mean the removal of her
G-Button...and NO SURGERY. Cheryl asked that I
please thank you for ALL your prayers. She really
feels that you are part of her miracle. God Bless.
Thank You Father!! Love In Christ,
Julie
Anyone new to this page.....Moriah was given
no hope at all at birth. The doctors told my
friend, Cheryl, to take her home and let her
die. THANK GOD, Cheryl believes God's Word
over man's. Moriah (which means God is My Teacher)
is a JOY and a BLESSING to all who meet
her...and she is doing everything that they said
she would not do..... Thank You Lord!!
