Moriah

 A POEM FOR MORIAH

Moriah was bright eyed.
Moriah and her nurse Michelle.
UPDATE: THURSDAY, 4-27 I just talked to Cheryl. She said that the doctors are looking at doing a tracheotomy next week or sooner if they can get all the surgeons together. It takes different doctors to do different parts of the surgery. She is still praying for a miracle for Moriah before the surgery would take place. She did talk to a doctor who said that she was a mother also and she explained a little more about how it would help Moriah. She said it does not have to be permanent and that it would give Moriah a chance to grow and for her lungs to be strengthened, also it would have a button for feeding instead of the tubes that go in her nose. This doctor said that breathing tubes are not usually left in for more than 30 days and Moriah has had them for over 60 days. She advised Cheryl that the tubes can cause problems by themselves if left in too long. Cheryl still does not have 100% peace about them putting the tubes back in yesterday but is trusting God that His Hand will be over all of this to His glory. The doctors absolutely refused to try to take them out again. Let's continue to pray that God makes Moriah's lungs whole. Praise God, we KNOW HE IS ABLE. Julie UPDATE: FRIDAY, 4-28 Moriah is stable. Cheryl is requesting that we continue to pray for No Tracheotomy, but that the lobes on Moriah's lungs be made whole and that her breathing will increase to around 40 breaths per minute. If the doctors were to see that kind of improvement, they would know that God is performing a miracle in her lungs and reconsider the surgery. We need to continue to press in on praying for this miracle as we know God is able and it is His will. Father we thank you for holding Moriah in your arms and lovingly taking care of her. UPDATE: SATURDAY, 4-29 He will rest in HIs love.....zeph 3:17 I am lifting Moriah up to the throne of God.  I stand in agreement with you in prayer and by the promises and authority of the scriptures, in the name of JESUS, and by the same fire and glory of the Holy Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead.  His will be done!In Jesus' name,Lisa Be Still And Know That I AM GOD--Psalm 46:10 I just talked to Cheryl. She has been to the hospital to see Moriah. She is doing fine. The latest thing that she is hearing is that the doctors are bickering amongst themselves about doing the tracheotomy. The intensitive doctors are pushing for it but the surgeons are reluctant to do it because of the 'quality of life'. Cheryl said this is the same thing that happened over Moriah's heart surgery. But Praise God that was a success!! They were supposed to do an upper G.I. today to get her ready for surgery but they did not do it. They will be waiting until next week to make any decisions. My thoughts are Praise God ...more time to pray. I guess most doctors are not used to trying to do anything for Trisomys so the fact that Cheryl is requesting all the help that they can give her has presented them with a whole new approach to treating these babies, I pray that it is a breakthrough for Trisomy babies just as the successful heart surgery. We continue to STAND on God's Word and His promises of life. Lord, we know you are a life giving God, and life more abundantly! We thank you Father that you came to give life and we claim life for Moriah in Jesus Precious Name. We love You, Lord UPDATE: MONDAY, 5-1 I just talked to Cheryl, she said that Moriah is stable and she will be going up to the hospital in a little bit. This week a decision will be made about the Trach. She asks that we continue to stand firm and ask our Heavenly Father to make her lungs whole in Jesus Name. We need to really lift Moriah, this week especially, before the Throne of Grace. A decision about surgery to put a button in her abdomen is also being discussed. This will be a crucial week of decisions as far as Moriah's future care is decided. Thank you for your prayers, they mean so much!! UPDATE: TUESDAY, 5-2 I talked to Cheryl today and they did go ahead and do the tests for Moriah to have surgery. The praise report is that they were able to do the tests in 4 hours. The original plan was to test and bring her back to her floor and then take her back down again for more tests. That would have kept her off of her feeds all day and I believe that she was already off of them Friday for tests that they ended up not doing. It is really important for her to eat so the fact that they got everything done at one time is very good. Cheryl continues to pray No Trach and we continue to stand with her. Lord, we NEED a miracle for little Moriah. We thank you Father that You hear our prayers. I thank everyone who is standing with us. God Bless You All! UPDATE: TUESDAY, 5-2 2:00PM I just got off of the phone with Cheryl. They have gotten the tests results back from yesterday and Moriah does have reflux which will mean that they will tie off a section of her stomach so it won't allow for anything to come back up in her lungs. They will do this at the same time that they put the button in her abdomen. At this point they are talking about doing the Tracheotomy tomorrow and if does proceed this way, then Cheryl is hoping that they will do both things at the same time. She still stands firm on asking the Lord for 'No Trach' but she is trusting Him that it is in His Hands and will have peace with the Lord guiding and directing the doctor's decisions. I ask that everyone please continue to keep Moriah in prayer especially now. God Bless You and thank you for your prayers. Heavenly Father, we thank you that you hear our prayers. We love You Lord!! UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, 5-3 I talked to Cheryl just a little bit ago and the surgery has been postponed until Friday. The doctors are still "discussing" it amongst themselves. Cheryl is happy that if this is the direction that the Lord moves in, that Moriah would have the same doctor that she had for her earlier surgery. He is compassionate and has already worked with her. Cheryl continues to ask the Lord for Moriah's breathing to increase to 40 breaths a minute and that her lungs be made whole. If the doctors were to see this happen, then they would reconsider the surgery and the Glory would be to the Lord. That is our prayer, that the Father would be glorified. Moriah is stable at the present time. We thank you so much for your prayers! Heavenly Father, We Know That You Are Able! We Believe Your Word and We Thank You That You Hear Our Prayers.
