I am lifting Moriah up to the throne
of God. I stand in agreement with
you in prayer and by the promises
and authority of the scriptures, in
the name of JESUS, and by the same
fire and glory of the Holy Spirit
that rose Jesus from the dead. His
will be done!In Jesus' name,Lisa
UPDATE: THURSDAY, 5-11
I just talked to Cheryl and I have another
praise report for Moriah. Thank You Lord,
You have been so faithful in meeting her
needs! Moriah has been moved to the 5th
floor. She is out of PICU and is on the
Transitional Care Floor. Praise God that
means another step to being able to come
home. She is being weaned off of her meds
and she has had the restraints taken
off of her hands. They were there to keep
her from pulling out the tubes from the
ventilator. She was trying to suck her
thumb yesterday. That is really awesome!
All of her stats are 98 to 100 (oxygenation
throughout her body) even when she is off
the ventilator. They are putting her on it
for 6 hours at a time and then she is off
for 12 hours. This gives her a chance
to rest. She does not have any I.V.'s now.
Also she can have more visitors now. They are dressing
her completely and have all of her little clothes and
things laid out. She is able to have a mobile and
other visual things in her area. They are being very
nice about playing Christian music only by her bed
and the nurses have put up a sign for no radio to be
played but only the tapes and C.D.'s that Cheryl has
provided so she is hearing constant praise music. Her
nurse last night was a spirit-filled Christian so Cheryl
was happy about that. All in all, she is doing great
and we are praising God.
Cheryl will be learning one on one care for taking care
of the Trach and they have assured her that she will be
comfortable with caring for Moriah before they let
her leave. Cheryl will be sending another picture soon
so you all will be able to see what the Lord is doing
in her life. Also her son did go to court yesterday and
all the charges were dropped. Her daughter is feeling
much better and is resting. Mike is still healing from
the back surgery. Thank you for your continued support
and prayers. Thank You Father, We Love You!!
UPDATE: MONDAY, 5-15
I just wanted everyone to know that Moriah is doing well.
Praise God! She is gaining weight and is now up to 6 lbs.,
8 ozs. A more detailed report will be posted later today.
Keep Praying! Heartseeker
UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, 5-17
Moriah is doing really good. One thing is that the
Trach has rubbed a raw spot on her neck and she is
not liking that very much. We just discovered it
ourselves when we were there and the nurses will
be putting a special bandage on it. She is still
looking beautiful though and she is still gaining
weight and is up almost another ounce. Cheryl met
her doctor and he seemed very nice and seemed
to have Moriah's best interest in mind. He made
her little removeable splints to keep her hands
open and the nurses all seem very good. He
will be x-raying her lungs again tomorrow and we
still need to call for complete healing of her left
lung. She seems to have a little more trouble with
that one. Also they sat her up in her little chair
today and she has a lot of stuffed animals and
visual things. She especially likes a little white
dog that Cheryl puts at the top of her head. She
looked very peaceful when we left, all wrapped up
in a blanket and sleeping with the dog at the top
of her head helping her feel secure. Cheryl bathed
her and changed her outfit, she is really filling
out. I love her and there is so much peace just
standing beside her and praying for her. It's like
being in the presence of the Father. Lord we thank
You that you watch over her and continue to touch
every cell of her body with Your miraculous healing
power. We love you Lord and thank You that You hear
and answer our prayers. We give You all the praise,
honor, and glory for this precious little life that
we are so privileged to share in, Thank You Father
for our little miracle baby.
UPDATE: FRIDAY, 5-19
More praise reports for Moriah. She continues to
gain weight and heroxygen level continues to improve.
She is at 23% oxygen now and we breathe at 21%, so
as that comes down they will begin to reduce the rate
of the ventilator. She has been on that just to be
able to rest and improve and that is exactly what she
has been doing. Praise God! Moriah is sitting up in
her bouncy chair during the day and she likes it. She
seems to be very comfortable there and seems to be
able to swallow better sitting up. Cheryl visits her
every day and she really likes mom's touch. The sore
on her neck is beginning to improve now that they
have lifted the Trach off of her skin. Praise God for
our little miracle baby!
UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, 5-24
I have more praise reports for Moriah. She is up
to 7 lbs. now!! Praise God! She is gaining just
like the doctor was hoping that she would. She is
at room temperature air now, the same as we breath
which is 21%, her oxygen does not need to be enriched
(have more saturation of air). The vent has been turned
down to 12 and eventually they will keep turning it
down until they can get her off completely. Her stats
are good. Her neck has healed up where the Trach tube
was rubbing on it. She will be weighed on Mondays and
Thursdays and we need to continue to pray that her
weight will increase like they are hoping for, an
ounce a day. We also need to pray that her digestive
system will function completely whole as it should.
She has had a little trouble since they switched her
to prune juice from the Senecot so we need to ask that
the Lord will take care of that need also. She is
sitting up in her bouncy chair and they turn it on
to vibrate which puts her to sleep. All in all, she
continues to thrive. Praise The Lord!! Father, we
thank you so much for holding little Moriah in your
hands. We humbly thank You for hearing our prayers,
we love You, Father.
UPDATE: FRIDAY, 5-26
I talked with Cheryl today and she said Moriah
was doing well. She gets to hold her and rock
her and all that "mommy stuff" and she was so
full of joy when she talked about it. I should
be receiving some new pictures to post soon and I
am very excited about that. God is being faithful
to our prayers.
Cheryl asked once again that I thank all of you
for your support, encouragement and prayers and
I would like to add my thanks to hers. God bless
you all for your love for "my kids".
UPDATE: TUESDAY, 5-30
I just received a call from a friend of ours that
Cheryl had called and asked her to let people know
that Moriah is needing prayer, they are starting an
I.V. because they said her respirations are up and
her pulse is up and her hands are turning blue. The
friend that called me is a nurse and suspects maybe
an infection but nothing has been confirmed. The doctor
said she was not looking good and when Cheryl got there,
she agreed. That is all that I know for now. Please
pray everyone, that God's hand will intervene and bring
wholeness to her in Jesus Name.
UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, 5-31
I just got a call from Cheryl at the hospital and
she said that Moriah does have a bowel obstruction
and most likely it will require surgery. Dr Kelley,
the same doctor that has operated on her twice before,
has gone down to radiology to look at her x-rays and
make the final decision on how to proceed. The good
news is that her heart rate is back to 146 and her
stats are running 98 to 100, which is excellent. They
are having a hard time getting an I.V. in because she
is so small, they had one in last night but it came out,
so let's pray for favor with that. Also, they said if
everything went good that the doctor will consider
bringing her back to T.C.U, where she is now as opposed
to P.I.C.U. Cheryl really wants that because she can give
her so much more personal care and it is a lot more of a
home like setting around her crib. Cheryl is requesting
that we please pray for God's guidance with the doctors
and all of the staff that are taking care of Moriah and
that the Hand of God will be instructing theirs throughout
the surgery. Cheryl and her family send a very heartfelt
thanks to everyone that is joining with us in prayer. You
all mean so much and it is very encouraging to have the
support of other brothers and sisters in Christ. Father,
we love You and thank you that You have so tenderly taken
care of Moriah. We stand back and watch in awe at what You
can do through the power of Your Mighty Name.
UPDATE: TO ABOVE
Thank you for your prayers. Once again, God has been
faithful to them. Thank you Jesus.
Cheryl just called from the hospital and was waiting
for the call to go see Moriah in recovery. Praise God,
He is so faithful, He has seen her through again! Moriah
came through the surgery great. The reason for the
obstruction was scar tissue from her previous surgery,
which they removed. She will be able to go back to The
Transitional Care Floor instead of PICU. Dr. Kelley was
her physician and he said there was very little blood and
that she did very well. Her stats are good and her
heart continues to work just as it should. Please
continue to keep her in your prayers as she recovers
and heals. Thank you everyone for your prayers!! I feel
that all the prayer support has really made a difference
and helped Cheryl's family in knowing they have had so
many wonderful prayers uplifting their family....and
Father In Heaven my words cannot convey the gratitude
that we have in Your Love for us. Thank You, Lord.
You are so Faithful and True!
