Give a gift in honor of this child.

Raylin

UPDATE: 1-9-09
Sorry it`s been so long since I`ve updated. Life just kinda gets away
from us sometimes......... Raylin is doing very well. Her teachers say
her work at school is exceptional. Thou they do say she`s a bit to vocal
sometimes. I say it`s just that she has a lot to say. Of cource I`m her
gramma and I think she`s a pretty smart little cookie. To think she only
weighed 20 oz. at birth, and today, 7 years later she`s a perfectly normal
child. It was the prayers of everyone that made the difference. God is so good!!
I still read the prayer request you all send, and pray for all the kids and
thier families. You are to be commended for all the work you have
devoted yourself to. Keep it up!
Luv and hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 9-3-05
Elizabeth,
Thanks for your concern. We`re all doing as well as possible here.
We have power here at our house now. But it`s hard to call anywhere
or get online because of busy curcuits {s/p} We got power late wedn.
evening. I tried to get my parents to come but they are hard headed.
Raylin and her mommy and daddy and the rest of our family live
farther east than us, about 35 miles north of New Orleans. So of
course none of them have power. They may come tomorrow, but
they wouldn`t come because Brandy`s grandma died Monday night
{Raylin`s great-grandmaw} after the storm. She was buried yesterday.
Just to give you a little idea of how things are, the funeral was held with
a closed casket because they had no way to keep her body cool.
PPL have generators but can`t run them because there`s no gas. A
few lucky ppl can get ice IF they happen to be in the right place when
someone delievers it. Over here on the west side of the river we can
find gas a little easier and my husband has been working closely with
the power companies. The Entergy office close to us lets him fill ice
chest from thier huge ice machine. So I`ve been bringing ice and water
and gas over to the other side of the river. It makes me want to cry to
see the desperation on ppl`s faces just for a simple thing like ice. I was
in a parking lot thursday giving out ice and an old man wanted to give
me five dollars for a bag of ice. It broke my heart.
But all in all, those ppl and my family and I KNOW we have been
BLESSED. The evacuees from New Orleans and towns south of
New Orleans need our prayers now. The governor said awhile ago
there is and estimated 50 thousands ppl still needing to be evacuated.
A lot of them children, babies and old ppl. God Bless them all!
I could go on and on but I better stop now I have a few more e-mails
to answer and there`s no telling how long my connection is going to hold
or when I`ll be able to get back online. I`ve been trying since Thur.
morning.
Luv and Hugs

Here`s pics of Raylin from last month.....I call her little orphaned annie...LOL

UPDATE: 9-16-04
I`m so sorry I haven`t sent any updates on our little miracle. But
what could I say.......She`s still perfectly wonderful. Talking ,
walking. and as I said b4 she`s a climber.....LOL.
She does things that are beyond what a 2 year old should do
Like figure out how to put round pegs in round holes and triangle
ones in the correct holes....she loves to help with anything . If I`m
dusting, she has to have a rag too, If we put up groceries, she
has to put them up also...{not always in the right place..LOL} And
the biggest surprise...when ya tell her to pick up her toys.....she
does!!!!!!!!!! None of my other grandkids do that without the threat
of punishment. She`s very nosey also.....when I take her somewhere......
she goes around and ask strangers...."What`s in that bag?" or "What`s
in that cabnet?" ..."What`s your name?"
hhhhhhmmmm....a little update on some of her micheviousness {sp}
during the past year she`s opened the oven door to climb on the
cabnet and grabbed the hot burner. Well that was a trip to the hospital.
Another time she climbed on top of the kitchen table, opened a bottle
of air freshener and drank.......ambulance had to come get her that time.....
she was fine, she had vomited it all up by the time they got there, but
they took her to the hospital to monitor her for a while anyway. She
climbed up on our four wheeler.....which was fine, until she figured
out how to turn the key. THANK GOD she doesn`t know how to put it
in gear. Don`t get me wrong....she is just the sweetest little girl anyone
could want. And she minds extremely well. It`s just the tomboy in her
thatcha have to look out for.
I`ve thought about updating a few times b4....but then I check e-mail and
I read about all the sick children that need our prayers, and it just breaks
my heart. So to you all, even though my little darling is doing so well......
I pray for each and every child everyday...and I feel I know you all through
your many prayer request. May God touch and heal you all and be with
the parents as ya`ll deal with the good and bad.
Luv and hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 3-12-04
I know it`s been awhile since I`ve sent any word on our little
miracle , and I apologize for that. She is still doing wonderful.
Except for a few winter colds and maybe a sore throat or 2, she
has been the picture of health. Can you all believe she is a year
and a half already. Brandy , her mom {my daughter} keeps my
youngest grandaughter also, Emily who is 1 year old, so she
and Raylin seem to compete with each other to see who can do
what first. If Raylin climbs...then Emily won`t be out done..so she
climbs up and over.....if Emily draws on the wall with a crayon then
Raylin draws on Emily....Brandy really has her hands full. She took
them both grocery shopping the other day, Emily was in the seat
facing Brandy and Raylin was in the basket, Brandy turned for just
a second and turned back and Raylin had climbed out and was in the
meat freezer..... so as you can see she is a very active ,normal.....
{ tomboy} little girl. I got an e-mail from a friend today about the Smell
of Rain and it reminded me of the miracle that God gave us. Sometimes
when I look at Raylin I forget because she`s so normal, and I have to
be reminded of how thankful we all were then. It`s good to be reminded
now and again that we should always be thankful.
I was so happy to hear the good news about Katia. God just keeps on
doing it doesn`t He? Praise Him!!
Gods Blessings on all prayer partners and warriors all over the world.
Luv and Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 11-12-03
Raylin is doing great. She`s been having
a little rash, and is taking meds for it.
Doctors say it`s an allergic reaction to
something, but they don`t know what. Oh
my, did I forget to send you the BD pics?????
Hold on lemme look for them. Brandy only s
canned two pictures, one of Raylin b4 she
dug into her BD cake and one after.

UPDATE: 9-07-03
I`m so sorry that I haven`t sent an update on Raylin in such a long
time, but it just seems that when things are going so well we tend
not to write as much. To tell you the truth I felt like if I did write
an update that I would just be bragging......LOL......but hey
gramma`s have bragging rights , don`t we? So here goes.......
she crawls everywhere, pulls up on furniture and gets into anything
she can reach. She tries to repeat all she hears, and does all the
things any baby should be doing at her age......which by the way
will be a year on the 16th. Her favorite thing to do is swimming...
she just loves to be thrown in the air and to be let to come down
and go underwater and she loves to slide down from the sliding
board into the water.....she doesn`t want you to catch her, she
wants us to let her go underwater, then grab her.... such a brave
little tom-boy we have on our hands! It just doesn`t seem like I`ve
been writing to you all and asking for prayer for over a year...
way b4 she was even born......
I want to thank each and everyone of you that have prayed for our
little miracle..... you all stormed the heavens for God to intervene to
save the life of this little girl and her mom also. And not only did He
let us keep her here with us on earth....but He made her whole and
healthy.....and for those of you who don`t know what I`m talking
about....Raylin weighed only 1 lb and 4 1/2 ozs at birth!
So from the deepest part of my heart, I thank you all, and I thank
God and praise Him daily for the miracles , big and small, that He
performs , even when we`re not looking.
Luv and Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 6-20-03
I received an update from Raylin's Grandmother. She has had
computer problems and apologized for not making contact sooner.
Raylin is doing just great and she wanted all of you know how
much they appreciate your prayers and love....Elizabeth
UPDATE: 5-2-03
Raylin is doing fine now. She just got home and everything is back to
normal once again. But if they don`t find out what is really causing
the cyst to grow back, then she`ll just be right back in there doing it
again. But God will come through once again, I know. This mystery
will be solved.
Oh I wanted to tell you about the amazing way God took care of the
bill at North Oaks Hospital. Even with Brandy and Randy`s
insurance they still owed North Oaks over $50,000.00. It was over
$84,000.00 but a charity organization paid $20,000.00. But they
where responsible for the rest. With all this Randy was laid off...
they lost their insurance....and Ralin still need medical care. Plus
all their other bills. They had to let their truck go back so they could
keep their trailor....they where "robbing peter to pay paul " I wrote
to the state rep. in their district and explained the situation.... via
e-mail,never dreaming that I would ever hear a word from him. Well
did God have a surprize for us all. About a week and a half later after
I had already forgotten about writing to him, he called. He had just
got off of the phone with the hospital and had the dept wiped out, except for
$1,000.00! Praise God!!!!!!!!! He works in the most unusual and strange ways.
And through people we least expect Him to work through.
Geesh this e-mail is really getting long. I will be with Raylin all day
tomorrow while Brandy goes to pay bills and get groceries and that
sort of stuff...so I`ll let you know how she is tomorrow. God Bless
Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
Oh forget to add that Randy has a new job and new insurance kicks in
soon...Medicaid is taking care of Raylins medical care for now.
UPDATE: 5-1-03
Ok now it`s Wednesday afternoon, and the test the doctor did with the scope
found another cyst growing in her little throat, so she removed it. The trek
wasn`t necessary. So now they have to try to find out why these little cyst
keep growning in her throat......it looks like she had the acid reflux
surgery thingy for nothing, because obviously something else is causing the
cyst to grow. I`m just sooooo aggravated because they can`t find out what`s
causing it! I`ll try to write again when we find out something from the tissue they`re
testing. God Bless !!!!!!!!
Luv and Hugs,
UPDATE: 4-30-03
Raylin has been doing good. But she has been in and out of the hospital a
few times because of her acid reflux problem, which effects her breathing. They
finally had to do surgery, where they make 3 small cuts around her belly
button and take a small part of her tummy and wrap it around the tube going
to her asparagus?Something like that . It seem to have done the trick, but
now she`s back in Childrens in New Orleans, in PICU with an upper
respiratory infection, and her throat is swollen. Wednesday the doctor will
put the scope down her little throat to see what`s going on. She thinks
Raylins throat just hasn`t developed like the rest of her body has. And if
the steroids can`t controll it , as a last resort they will have to insert a
trek until her thoart catches up with the delelopment of every thing else.
Oh by the way she already has 2 teeth. Please, please pray that the trek
isn`t necessary, and that God will step in and heal her completely.
Through this all, Raylin has remained a happy baby. Never crying
when she feels bad......always a big smile that lights up
her eyes and whole face. A precious giggle that could melt your
heart......of course I`m not being prejudices......LOL. Please any of you
all reading this, feel free to send it to any friends or prayer
chains....even you chuches prayer chain......God has plans for Raylin. I`m
extremely convenced of this. Thank you all in advance. God also has big
plans for this ministry that Elizabeth has starTed here...so please keep her
in your prayers also.
Luv and Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget

UPDATE: 1-22-03
Thank you all for your prayers. Raylin did very good and is back from
recovery already and sucking a bottle. The doctors say she`ll be discharged
about 7:30 in the morning.
Luv and Hugs,
Bridget
UPDATE: 1-18-03
Raylin is going home today and will have to goback to Childrens hospital
wed. to have the cyst removed. She`ll only have to spend one night, and go
home again thursday. The doctors have ordered Brandy to start Raylin on
rice cerial and baby food......to nutralize acid or something like that.
She loves it..especially the carrots. I still don`t know what time the
surgery well be wed. I`ll let ya`ll know when I find out. Thanks for all
the prayers for Raylin and, Juli`s grandbaby, Abby.
What an awesome King He is.
Luv and Hugs,
Bridget
UPDATE: 1-17-03
You asked how Raylin is....she`s doing good, but still has wheezing. So
today they put her to sleep and put that little light down her throat to
see if they could tell why her airway seems to be to small. They found a
small cyst, that they say is caused by acid reflux. So they will give her
meds. to clear the reflux up. And if it`s clear by Wed. they are going to
remove the cyst. It`s a simple little surgery, and the doctor doesn`t see
any reason for any problems. Of course I know that because I know God will
be there with him guilding his every move. I`ll let you know if the surgery
is deffintly going to be Weds.
God Bless,
Luv and Hugs,
Bridget
UPDATE: 1-13-03 PM
Thank God Raylin is doing good now. I know my last e-mail was a little
short on information. She has had a little wheeze in her breathing for a
week or more. Doctors told Brandy that most preemies breath that way, so
she wasn`t really to concerned until saturday night when Raylin started to
fight for breath. She was admitted to North Oaks where she was born about 9
pm. There they gave her breathing treatments and oxygen, but they aren`t
set up to take really good care of her. They have a very good NICU but can
not re-admitt babies that leave there. So last night they decided to go
ahead and take her by ambulance to Childrens...what scared me the most was
them moving her at 12:30 midnight...and she had to use every muscle in her
little body to breath....her little legs would come up in the air when she
took a breath. She was put on steroids and they give her breathing
treatments every 2 hours. When I left awhile ago she was breathing normally
and sleeping peacefully. I spoke with the doctor and he said she just has a
bad upper respiratory infection. He also said she will probably be taken
out of PICU tomorrow and get into a room. Elizabeth.... we were
probably with Raylin when you called..... Thank you all for for your
prayers..... God has already answered.....and she will be ok.....
Praise His Holy Name
Luv and Hugs,
Bridget
UPDATE: 1-13-03
Raylin was addmitted to Hospital in hammond saturday evening. Something is
wromng with her breathing. Last night she was transfered to Childrens
Hospital of New Orleans......she`s in the Ped. ICU..will try to get you
more info when I get back. She seems to be gasping for every breath.
Please pray......
Hugs,
Gramma Bridget
UPDATE: 1-08-03
Our little miracle now weighs over 6 lbs.....Praise His holy name! Brandy
went to wally world last thusday and bought 2 packs of preemie
pampers.....and opened one to change Raylin, and her little hinny was to
big for them!!!!!!! I just stood up and praised God.... she`s outgrown
preemie clothes!!! When she takes her bottle we have to just take it from
her and make her burp, be cause if we don`t she will suck it down b4 we can
blink. And she has her voice back after having that feeding tube down her
throat.....and she likes to use it......the angels in heaven probably hear
her when she`s mad. But that`s ok......it`s such beautiful music to my
ears. I can`t praise God enough for the gift He has given us. It was Him
and only Him that heard the prayers of you all, and answered them.
To all of you asking for prayer for your premature babies... God still
performs miracles, Raylin is living proof. Don`t be discouraged God has
given the doctors and nurses the knowledge to take care of these small
wonders. And He is truely everywhere......I know He was and has continued
to be, right at Raylin and Randy and Brandys` side.
UPDATE: 12-24-02
Raylin had a check-up yesterday and doc says she`s doing exceptionally
well. She now weighs 5 lbs and 3 ozs.....and eating like a pig....PTL!
I want to thank each and every one of you that have been praying for our
miracle.......What a wonderful Christmas this is for us, as I hope it will
be for all of you! So to you all.....have a very merry, joyful, peaceful,
and blessed Chritmas and may the new year bring you closer to your goals
and needs. God Bless everyone of you!

UPDATE: 12-17-02
RAYLIN IS HOME!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!
Randy and Brandy spent saturday and sunday night and day in a hospital
room with Raylin. Everything went so well, that they where let go yesterday.
Needless to say I held that little girl half the day yesterday. She`s going
to be one spoiled little girl. She now weighs 4 lbs and 11 ozs { my son
Jason only weighed 4 lbs 9 ozs when I brought him home 23 years ago, and he
is now a dad himself and he`s at least 1' taller than me} She has an
appointment this am to get her RSV shot. So she should have no problems
with catching anything from other children. Brandy had to rent a sleep
apnea monitor for Raylin, just in case, but they`re expecting no problems
there either, it just as a precaution. I praise God everyday for what He
has done for her. She has been covered by prayer even before she was born.
Thank you all for your continuing prayers! God is good!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 12-13-02
Elizabeth,
Raylin is up to 4 lbs and 5 ozs as of yesterday! She should get to come
home at the begining of next week. Brandy is so excited , and a little
scared, but she will get over it I`m sure. To all of you who have been
praying, I thank you all. God has answered your prayers for our precious
little gift from above. Sometimes I just sit and think in amazment at how
well she has done, and how she is gaining weight and at how perfect her
little body is, how something so tiny could have the breath of life in her
and be totally without support of respirators or oxygen and now even
without the feeding tube. God can do wonders. He breathed her first breath
into her and gave her the strength she needed to fight for her life and to
make it! He stays right by her side day and night to watch over her. He is
truely King! And I praise His holy name.
God Bless,
Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 12-02-02

still have to get someone else to scan them for me. I`ll send them when I

UPDATE: 11-18-02
Raylin is doing great still. Yesterday morning she
weighed 2lbs and 11 ozs.....she`s gaining fast!!!!!!! PTL

UPDATE: 11-07-02
Sorry it`s been so long since the last update, computer problems.
I`m sending a picture of Raylin when she was 36 days old.
That`s her dads hand in the picture with her. Today she weighs
2lbs 1oz and is 53 days old. She has been moved to the regular
nursery, no more intensive care for our girl! And the have
removed the little oxygen tube from under her nose, and
she`s doing very well without it. Praise God!
The nurses put a little towel around her to keep her from
rolling herself over so much, so she decided if she couldn`t
roll, then she would just scoot...so she scoots up and down
until she scoots herself out of her little diapers, then plays
with them with her feet. I have a picture that I took yesterday,
but I can`t load my scanner into this laptop, so I`ll send it
when I can get my daughter-in-law to scan it for us.
All of her progress I give to God. Her very life is because
God heard all of the prayers that have poured out to the
heavens even before she was born and I thank you all for them!
I will send more when she I can. God is sooooooo good!
Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 10-22-02
Raylin is doing extremly well. Brandy got to change her diaper
Sunday. And then monday she got to hold her for the first time.
She weighs 1lb and 10 oz`s now and gaining! Yesterday morning
one of the nurses told Brandy that she sat down to eat and looked
up at Raylin and she had scooted herself out of her diaper and
was playing with it with her feet up in the air. The nurses have
started putting a little blanket around her so she won`t turn over
so much, so Raylin decided to scoot instead of turn I guess.
Everyday she does something that just amazes me. And the
nurses are so in love with her, their not going to want to let her
go home. This tiny little miracle from God is bringing a lot of
people to their knee`s, PTL. All of ya`ll prayers are so very
important. God hears each and everyone of them and is doing
wonderful things through this little child. Thank you all so much!
Raylin`s daddy "Randy" has not had a beer since she was
born, please pray that he will continue to do well with this
struggle, Thanks again.
Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
ps, I don`t know if my laptop has enough memory left in it to
download my scanner, but I`m going to try. I`ll send pictures if I can.
UPDATE: 10-14-02
Here`s another picture of Raylin. She is still doing very good and
gaining a few oz`s. They have her feeding tube taped down so she
won`t pull it out. The ink pin laying in front of her is to show how
small she is.
Luv and Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 10-06-02
Raylin...... what can I say????? She`s our little miracle baby.
Ya`lls prayers have helped so much. Though she is down to
1lb 2oz, {premies always lose wieght before they gain} she is
totally off of any kind of resporator. The only tube on her is
her feeding tube, and she keeps pulling that out her little self.
She sucks a pacifier..... AND are ya`ll ready for this? She turns
herself over! If she`s tired of being on her tummy, she turns
right over. If she`s tired of being on her back, she turns herself
over to her tummy. The doctor and the nurses have never seen
any baby quite like her. She`s 4 months early, and not even 3
weeks old yet. The don`t know what to think.....We keep
telling them that she has a lot of people praying for her. And
that God is right up in there with them taking care of her. The
picture that I`m sending is before they took her resperator tube
out. I will take more pictures this week. God Bless and thank
ya`ll again. Keep on PRAYING!!!!
Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 9-27-02
Just sending a little update......Raylin is still doing very well.
Satuday morning she had a little puncture hole one of her lungs.
The doctors had to sedate her and put a little tube in her side
to keep it inflated. They said it will heal itself. But other than
that she is still amazing the doctors and nurses.....PTL. She
hasn`t lost any weight, like the said she would. They said most
premies lose a little before they start gaining......but she hasn`t!!!!!
The tube will come out in about 3 more days. And she`s been
sucking on the tube they have down her throat..LOL...nurses
said, she`s not suppose to know how to suck yet......and she
swallows every time her little mouth fills up with salvia. There
again, she does something they say she isn`t suppose to be
able to do.....AIN`T GOD GRAND?!!!!!!!! She pulls the
wires off of herself, and they keep having to put them back
again..they lay her on her little tummy and she puts her legs
up under herself and sticks her hinny up in the air. My daughter
told me the other day the nurses put some salve on her hinny
and she stuck it up so far that she wiped it all over the stuff
they have on her "bed" . {The covering that`s on there to keep
the heat in}. She is already receiving mommy`s milk through
her little tube.....and doing exceptionally well with it! I have a
little cold, so I can`t go into the NICU right now.and it`s killing
me.LOL. All of you reading this.I thank you, soooooooo very
much. Your prayers have done so much. I love you all!
I will send another update as soon as she gains her first pound,
as I know she will, because God promised! And when we
finally get to hold her, you all know I`ll send plenty of pictures
then.
Luv and Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget
UPDATE: 9-20-02
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Elizabeth,
I`m so sorry that I haven`t sent an update recently...Raylin
was born Monday morning Sept. 16th at 3:05 am. She
weighed 1lb 4 1/2oz. And 12 inches long. She has all her l
ittle toes and fingers.....PTL. She is breathing on her own!
Of cource they have put a tube down her little throat, in
case she stops breathing....the michine is only giving her
10 breaths per minute, because she is breathing good.
And she has all the other tubes that premature babies have
like the feeding tube and all that. The doctors have found
nothing wrong with her! She looks like a perfect little doll.
They say she will be in the hospital for another 4 months..
but thanks to all the prayers I have been recieving for them,
I`m sure she will be home sooner than the doctors think.
Brandy is also doing good.....she had a C-section of cource,
they had five doctors in the O R with her, they thought she
would have severe hemorrhaging, and they where going to
do a hysterectomy, but then again....LOL......PTL. She didn`t
need one! God is soooooooo good! Thanks again to you all
for your prayers..and please keep it up...... little Raylin has a
long row to hoe still, But God has made a strong little girl and
she`s a fighter, and she is rocking in Gods arms. I`ll send
another update as soon as she gains her first oz..LOL. Here`s
a picture of her when she was 2 days old....LOL....she jumped
when I started snapping pictures.....and she jumps when she
hears her mommy`s voice..Praise God!
Luv and Hugs,
Maw-Maw Bridget {doesn`t she look like she wants to be picked up?}
UPDATE: 9-11-02
To start off, I refuse to let myself believe anything will go wrong.
God has carried Brandy and Raylin this far for a reason, and
it`s not to let anything go wrong! Amen!
Yesterday morning Brandy noticed a few drops of fluid
dripping down her leg when she went to the bathroom.
The doctor examined her and said her water had broke,
but was dripping out slowly. He gives her a 10 percent
chance of carring Raylin any longer than a week. She
won`t be 24 weeks until Sat. That`s the amount of time
the doctors say is a good chance for the baby to survive.
And that`s the goal they have been shooting for. Brandy
started getting steroid shots yesterday to help Raylins little lungs.
They need to be bombarded with prayer...PTL.
I stand on His promise, please stand with me.
Nothing will go wrong. nothing will be wrong with
Raylin, and Brandy will be just fine! AMEN!
Hugs,
Bridget { Maw-Maw of unborn Raylin, and born....PTL..

UPDATE: 9-05-02
PTL.......Brandy hasn`t had any bleedin in 2 weeks and 6
days. Doc. let her take a shower yesterday...LOL..... first
one in 5 weeks....!!!! If she doesn`t have any bleedin by
next tuesday, then he may let her get out of the hospital.
She will be goin to her hubby`s mom`s house, because she
lives closer to the hospital. Yesterday the doctor sat down
with me and told me he can`t figure out why Raylin lived
through all that Brandy has been goin through. He said she
should have been dead, from Brandy`s blood loss. Thanks
for all ya`lls prayers..God is so truely good!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Bridget
UPDATE: 8-22-02
Thanks so much for your prayers. Thing`s are lookin up, PTL.
She was taken yesterday by ambulance to Baton Rouge from
Hammond hospital to run more extensive test. Doctors are kinda
baffled, they have never seen her condition b4 and are sending
her results to specialist all over the counrty to try and find a
sollution. The baby{ Raylin} is doing great. They say Brandy`s
problem is not fetal related at all. So when Brandy is 24 weeks
they will start her on steroids to help Raylin develop her little lungs
faster so when and if they have to take her she will be in tip top
shape. They are watching Brandy`s blood count closely and her
BP. And as of yesterday that too, was doing good. I know God
has His hand on Brandy and all will turn out great.
Luv and Hugs,
Bridget
UPDATE: 8-20-02
Brandy is going to be moved to the Womans Hospital in
Baton Rouge thursday. They are better equiped to deal
with what`s wrong with her. The baby is still doing fine,
she is growing and her heart beat is still normal. Brandy
needs our prayers though. Well actually they both do.
Friday morning her BP went down to 52/25 and the doctor
just happened to be in there when it did. They started giving
her shots and upped her iv and finally got it up to a more
managable level. She has been bleeding everyday, and the
specialist told us she has a venus bowl. Her obgyn has never
heard of it and her specialist has only seen it twice. I can`t
seem to find out any info on it either. They want her to go to
Woman`s in Baton Rouge, because they think they may have
to take the baby and Brandy will have to have a hysterectomy.
Pray that Brandy and the baby can hold on another 3 1/2 weeks
until she is 24 weeks so the baby will have a better chance to
make it. And pray that a choice doesn`t have to be made to
take the baby before then so Brandy won`t bleed to death.
God is good to us as always and He will help us through this also.
Thanks for ya`lls prayers,
Bridget
UPDATE:8-15-02
Raylin is doing just fine. Doctors say her little heartbeat is
normal and she is growning normal. Brandy is still in the hospital.
She has been rushed to labor and delievery off and on a few times
from her room, because of bleeding. The specialist has put her on
meds that he hopes will stop her uterus from contracting. Brandy
was recieving her fifth unit of blood since saturday, when I left the
hospital yesterday evening. Thank You all for your prayers. I will
keep you all informed of thier progress!
God Bless,
Bridget
ADDED: 8-07-02
Brandy Barber, my daughter that is 18 weeks pregnant has
been admited to the hospital for bleeding 3 times already.
She had to be admited again yesterday. Her OBGYN and
a specialist has had her on complete bed rest since she was
2 1/2 weeks pregnant. The last time she was admited, she
hemorrhaged so bad that the doctor that was in emergency
that night at 2 in the morning, told her she had lost the baby.
Her and her husband where devastated. I had called everyone
I knew at 2 and 3 in the morning.and there was a prayer
chain formed from many churches. Plus we had a lot of ppl
in the waiting room praying. As I was trying to comfort Brandy,
she kept saying , she could feel something still moving in her
stomach. I told the nurses and the doctor, but they just thought
it was her imagination. Finally her own OBGYN got there
and they did a sona-gram or whatevery that is where they
take the picture? { bad spelling so forgive me}
Well, there was the baby healthy and kicking up a storm.
To say the least, the doctors didn`t know what to make of
it......PTL......but we do don`t we? Well that was the praise
part, now Brandy is back in the hospital..spotting a little, and
the doctor first said her placenta was to low and the baby was
kicking it and making her bleed. Yesterday he told her, he
thinks she may have some kind of mass on her placenta. They
will know more today after the run more test. Her OBGYN
said he could deliever the baby at 20 weeks if it was necessary.
Please say a prayer for Brandy and the baby. Pray that the
doctor doesn`t have to take the baby early, and for Brandy`s
patience and mental health. And please pray that we have
another fine healthy grandchild to spoil?
Thanks
Bridget Pearson
