UPDATE: 4-27-04
One short year ago Trisha, our sweet precious girl was admitted to
the hospital for the last time. We saw so many miracles in her all too
short life. When she got so sick I just knew we were going to see the
biggest miracle yet. She just kept getting sicker and sicker. Where was
the miracle I knew we were going to see? One day standing at the end
of her bed I realized she was in a win, win situation. She was either going
to get well and come home or go home to be with the Lord. We saw the
ultimate miracle!! Our sweet baby cake is spending eternity with our
Heavenly Father in her perfect body. Thank you so much for being there
with us during this bitter sweet time in our lives.
Lore
UPDATE: 6-09-03
Please continue to remember us in your prayers.
We are still struggling with losing Trisha. I do
not ask this every week because I know it would
get old fast. We have great days where we are rejoicing
because she is dancing with Jesus. Then we have
days that we miss her so bad. Our hearts hurt so bad
it feels like we are not breathing right. I personally
have yelled and screamed at God. I actually told
Him if it hurt this much to serve Him I did NOT
want to do it any more. Praise God he sent a wonderful
encourager (our Schwan's man) with in an hour of that
tantrum. In my head I know she is in a better place. I
have not totally convinced my heart of that yet. Then I feel
selfish for wanting her so badly. For wanting her to
have never left us to receive her perfect body. For
wanting her to continue to live her with all the physical,
developmental, and medical problems. Oh if I could just
hold her one more time. Okay I type way more than I ever
intended to type. The reason I am requesting prayer this
week is because Father's Day is next Sunday. I know this
will be another really hard day for us. Thank you so much
in advance for your prayers.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 5-07-03
We had always planned to take a cruise on our 25th wedding
anniversary. But......... when that time came we had only had Trisha
for 6 months and had no one to watch her. So we did not go. The
Tuesday before Trisha got sick it dawned on me that we had someone
that could watch all three kids. So I emailed Bill(he was on a
business trip) to tell him I thought we should plan that cruise for
our anniversary. He called me and tried to put it off a year or two. I
told him no I had arrangements for the kids now so we needed to do it
now. While he was on his way home from his business trip the Friday
that Trisha was admitted to the hospital he scheduled our cruise. When
he found out that she was going to be in the hospital he asked if he
should cancel it. I told him NO!!! She goes in the hospital and comes
out all the time. Let's just plan on going. The sicker she got the
more we sat on the should we or should we not cancel the trip. The
only way I would of canceled it is if she made it she would of been in
the hospital a long time. I could not go on a cruise if she was in the
hospital. Trisha embrased life to its fullest and she would expect us
to do so too. So we are going on our cruise for our 28th anniversary.
We will be leaving on Sunday that 11th. We will be on the ship for
Mother's Day, my birthday, and our anniversary. We are planning on
having a great time and celebrating life. I will be going to no mail
or special messages sometime on Saturday. All you moms have a great
Mother's day and give your kids an extra hug from me.

UPDATE: 5-03-03
I am amazed at how many emails I have received for support,
encouragement, and prayers since Trisha gone to play with her Papaw in
heaven. I would love to answer each of the individually but right now
I just cannot do that. My brain is out in left field some where and it
is all I can do to put two sentences together that make any sense. I
have a huge hole in my heart. Right now I wonder if the pain will ever
go away. I am sure it lessons some as time goes on. I know she is
doing everything that she could never do here on Earth. I am so happy
for her. But still I MISS her with my whole being. Please continue to
pray for us for a while. We need to adjust to a whole different way of
life.
Thank you again.
In Him,
Lore

UPDATE: 4-29-03
Our prescious angel has left her earthen vessel for a perfect body. She is
dancing with the Lord. I am sure she is singing Jesus Loves Me and Itsy
Bitsy spider to her hearts content. She finally got to meet her Papaw (my
dad). She joined our family after he had left to be with the Lord. We have
been so blessed to have these few short years with her. She has touched so
many lives. There was not one person that met her that did not fall in love
with her. I believe we have all been touched by an angel on Earth. Now she
is an angel in Heaven. Thank you all for all the prayers and support. If you
feel you want to do something in honor of Trisha please send donations to

UPDATE:4-29-03
Friends and Family
It is 12:35 AM - I was awaken by the phone - it was my dear friend Lore -
it is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that they are letting
Trisha go, it is time for her to be with our Heavenly Father.
No words can express our deepest sympathy, limited understanding and
broken hearts.
I would covet your continued prayers for this precious family as the next
several days will continue to be a blur and strength from above will be
needed. I also ask that as you are led well wishes and prayers be
extended in the many days to come....
Be Blessed Abundantly~
Renee
UPDATE: 4-29-03
Dear Warriors, Family, and Friends,
I called the hospital to talk with Lore a few moments ago and
learned that Trisha went home to Jesus at around 2AM. Please
keep this family in your prayers and thank you for your support.
One day, we will understand these things.
Love and Blessings,
Elizabeth
UPDATE: 4-29-03
Just spoke to Lore - they will be jump starting Trisha's kidneys. There
is risk to the blood pressure and heart rate - but they need to know if the
kidneys are working. If they are working - they will hang on - if not -
they are done.
Cody has been given permission to see Trisha. Cody is Trisha's Golden
Retriever - they have a VERY special relationship. I am very excited and
blessed that this will take place - although I know it will be difficult
for Cody as he does not like when Trisha is not well.
She has also been given several snap shots of Trisha that capture her
essence of childhood that she will have for those who visit - Lore says
"so they can see who she really is".
I will keep you posted and invite you to visit Trisha's web page.
UPDATE: 4-28-03
Continue to press in - Lore called me this AM - Trisha was trying to
come out of it, so they put her under more. Her blood is still not
coagulating. However, her heart rate has come down from the mid 200's
to about 170's, her blood pressure is still off though. They have no
idea what is going on - Trisha just needs to fight this infection -
with your prayers - all things are possible.
Renee

UPDATE: 4-28-03
It seems Trisha is not doing as well as she was this AM. It appears her
kidneys are shutting down. Her heart rate has gone back up some and her
blood pressure is still not good. Lore says she looks like a sumo
wrestler as she is very swollen. Please continue to press in, it
seems the reality of the situation is hitting Lore very hard.
UPDATE: 4-28-03
I just talked to someone with the family and she said they thought she was
making a slight improvement, but then started spiralling down rapidly. We
will not give up . . . the person I talked to did not sound hopeful. I told
her we was not going to give up.
UPDATE: 4-27-03 5:42PM
Heavenly Father - I ask that you encamp your angels about Trisha - Father I
ask that you envelope the family in peace.
I just spoke to a friend of Lore's - they have put Trisha on DNR - saints I
beg you to go before the throne of God for this precious angel.
I am making arrangements for my children so that I can go to the hospital to
be with Lore - I will keep you posted.
Renee
************
I spoke to Lore this morning and they had to give Trisha 2 blood
transfusions, 2 things of plasma and she is still on the ventilator. She
remains in critical condition and her kidneys are working hard - the first
24 hours is critical
Renee
UPDATE: 4-26-03
11:22 AM
I beg you to take a moment to go before the throne on behalf of Trisha.
Lore just called me and they will be placing Trisha in ICU - her blood
pressure is way off as well as her electrolytes. They have her of 2 liters
of oxygen and she is just barely holding stable, they believe she is sepsis
and going into shock....
I will keep you posted,
Renee
****************
8AM
Lore just called me - they had to intubate Trisha. Please press in - Lore
is beside herself, since Trisha is in ICU she can not be in the room with
her right now. She does know that Trisha is intubated with three IV's.....
Press in - I will keep you posted.

8PM UPDATE:
Lore called me a bit ago - they have to admit Trisha to the hospital - her
fever went as high as 104.9. They think she has a kidney infection or an
infection in her port.
Please pray they get the infection under control and that it is not in her
port. I will keep you posted.
Be Blessed Abundantly~

When Trisha woke up from her nap today she had a temp of 102.8. Her nurse
gave her Motrin for the elevated temp. We took her temp 45 minutes later and
her temp was up to 104.3. We are headed to the doctor's office. She is
acting like she has a sore throat. I am praying it is strep and not a
complication from her surgery. Lore
UPDATE: 4-13-03
Trisha has been running a elevated temp off and on all weekend. The highest
it has gone up to is 103. Other than that she is doing wonderful. I had a
little scare with her tubes today. One of them came out during her bath. A
quick call to the doctor and I had it all fixed. It was not as big of a deal
as what I was imagining when it first happened.
Here is a link to the news article in the Knoxville News Sentinel on Trisha
and Cody.

UPDATE: 4-11-03
Trisha has been so happy to be home today. She has moved around in the house
on her little scooter. She has not had any problems with her feeds. She has
been all smiles and playing. When I got ready to feed her at 6pm I thought
she felt a little warm. I decided to take her temp. Her temp is 102.7. I
called the doctor on call. He is not real concerned. He told me to give her
some Ibuprophen. If it does not come down or if it comes down and goes up to
104 or higher I am suppose to call him. I am praying that it will come down
and stay down.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 4-10-03
We serve and awesome God. Trisha had her surgery on Tuesday morning. The
doctor said that it could not have gone any better. She had some problem
with one of her sites bleeding a quite a bit. We got that to stop early
yesterday afternoon. She started on a diluted strength of her Pediasure late
last night. Yesterday she made two laps around the hall in her wheelchair.
She was sitting herself up in her bed and playing like nothing was
different. She did run a low grade temp Tuesday evening. Other than that and
the bleeding she has done WONDERFUL. We were told she would be in the
hospital 5 to 7 days. Well we got home about 7:30 tonight. She was so glad
to be home. I admit so am I. Thank you so much for all your prayers. Lore
PS Anyone that lives in the Knoxville Tennessee area the Sentinel is going
to have an article about our golden retriever Cody, and Trisha in their
Sunday addition.
UPDATE: 4-08-03
We got to the hospital a little later this morning
than we had intended to. We visited and waited with
Trisha's parents while she was in surgery. We were
not there long before the surgeon came out and they
were done. The surgery didn't take nearly as long as
anticipated and the surgeon was very pleased with things.
He said things could not have gone better. We then
went back to Trisha's room and waited for her to come
down from recovery. We were able to meet their Pastor,
his wife, and their youth director. We had a good visit
and prayer together.
When Trisha was brought back to her room she was waving
hello and goodbye and smiling. She is a trooper. This was
a major surgery and she was if it was nothing. She played
and listened to her musical fish. Vanessa, her nurse, is
just excellent. She fixed her hair and washed her face
and sang Jesus loves you to her. She loves music and
singing. I tickled the bottom of her foot and even through
the sock she felt it...praise the Lord. We stayed
several hours and had a great visit with everyone and of
course I got my turn at singing for Thrisha and playing
with her. She was awake the entire time but was falling
to sleep as we left about 3PM.
I wish you all could have been there to see
how special she is. I know God is not
done with her and if we remain faithful in our prayers
I believe that she will walk. She is a great blessing
and a beautiful child and God prepared for her a loving
and wonderful pair of parents. I praise God that He has
provided for her needs and that they were willing to obey
His call on their lives. Bill and Lore and other parents
like them are very special people.
So...keep those prayers coming....Elizabeth
UPDATE: 4-03-03
Please remember Trisha this next week. She is being admitted on Monday. She
will receive a day long pre-op for her surgery on Tuesday. The surgery can
take any where between 3 and 6 hours. She is having a bladder augmentation,
mitrofanoff, and mace procedures. She will be in the hospital 5 to 7 days.
Please pray that they find a good site for an IV. She has such tiny veins
that is always a problem. She is usually stuck numerous times before they
find the IV site. One time it was over 40 times. Pray that the IV will stay
in place for as long as needed so she does not have to be restuck. Pray that
the surgery will go as expected and nothing unforseen will happen. I will be
staying with her the whole time she is in the hospital. Please pray that all
goes well at home for Bill while he holds down the home front. Pray that she
recovers quickly. That she does not regress too far as far as the things she
has grasped in this last year. This may sound a little selfish but..........
Trisha has a low immune system. Please pray that the census at the hospital
is low enough that she does not have to have a room mate. Thank you
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 3-26-03
Here is a picture I never thought I would be taking of Trisha. She is
sitting on our couch totally unsupported. She is learning how to get down
off of the couch without hurting herself. She is so excited when she does
big girl things. God is so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 3-20-03
I took Trisha to the neurologist today. It was just a 6 month check up. She
is doing wonderful. It has seemed in the past few months that she has been
feeling things on her feet. She should not be developing that sensation
after this long of not having any. Well he checked her by rubbing a pen on
the bottoms of her feet. She is definetly feeling things. Not like the
average person. But she is feeling things she has not felt in the past. We
are praising God for this. The doctor does not know if it will progress any
further. I know that if it is God's will she will feel more in HIS timing.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 3-13-03
I have a praise the LORD. We took Trisha to her pulmonologist yesterday
afternoon. He was so impressed at how well she is doing in everything. Since
her last sleep study and the downloads of her apnea monitor he has dc'd her
apnea monitor. This is the first piece of equipment that she has had dc'd
since coming home from NICU at 5 months of age. She will be 4 in May.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 3-02-03
I did some research on Trisha's medications. The Reglan that they just put
her on to help her stomach empty better can cause sleepiness and it also can
have nervous system side effects. She already has an extremely compromised
nervous system so we do not need to do anything to make it worse. Even
though she has been on the Reglan in the past with no apparent problems I
think it is the problem this time. I have not given her any of it today and
I have my little girl back. We are still feeding her thru out the day just
taking it a little slower for now. She is doing well with her feeds too.
Please continue to pray that her feeds continue to do so well.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 2-28-03
Something is just not right. I cannot tell you what it is. She
just has seemed so tired almost drugged a good part of the
week. We have been having problems with her struggling to
keep her oxygen levels up. She has had some slow heart rate
alarms. Now she is not on the maximum of oxygen that she
can be on. Something just seems so not right. I think I am
going to go to some kind of website where I can look into
drug interactions. I will put all of her medications into it and
see what it shows me. Any way please pray that we
can figure out what her problem is.
UPDATE: 2-12-03
Trisha does not have a blood clot. Praise the Lord!
They do not know what the problem is with her leg.
Her right leg is cold, pale, and just isn't quite right.
It is difficult to explain so please just pray for her leg
to be normal and as it should be. Thank you for your
prayers.
UPDATE: 2-11-03
I am headed to Children's Hospital with Trisha. She is going to have a
dopler done on her right leg to rule out a blood clot.
Lore
UPDATE: 2-07-03
Trisha had her urodynamics today. Pretty much it told us her bladder holds
very little urine. So she will be getting a new and improved bladder, a new
area to cath, and a place to help move her bowels. She is scheduled for
surgery on the 8th of April. She has to go in on the 7th to get cleaned out.
They said she would be in the hospital 5 to 7 days.
UPDATE: 2-05-03
Trisha is going tomorrow (Thursday)morning for a urodynamic test. She needs
to have this done before they do the Mitrofanoff and Mase surgeries in
April. We will set her surgery tomorrow while I am there. We are looking at
the first week in April for her surgery.
We are also trying to slowly switch her back to her g-tube from her j-tube
for her feeds. We are wanting to do this becuase the j-tube has been leaking
so much. She is up to 5 ounces three times a day in the g-tube as well as 8
ounces after she goes to sleep at night in her g-tube. The rest of her feed
she takes thru the j-tube all night long. This has worked great until just
recently. All of a sudden her j-tube starting to leak again. We do not feel
like we can increase the g-tube feedings because she is starting to retch a
lot more than what she was. The retching is the reason we quit using her
g-tube for her feeds. Please just pray that can do what is needed for
Trisha.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 12-14-02
Praise God!!!!!!!! Trisha's j-tube has quit leaking. There is no
medical reason for it. I have not done anything different. The
only explanation I have and need is prayers. Thank you for
praying for a 3 yr old that you have never met. Lore
UPDATE: 12-12-02
Trisha's j-tube is leaking extremely bad once again. We have been
to the doctor twice in 6 weeks time trying to get this to work right.
This is her source of nutrition. We need to pray that it stops leaking.
I would say she is loosing at least a 1/4 of her feed. Which does not
sound like much, but when you have the feed to the very cc that she
needs 1/4 can be a lot. Please pray with me and believe with me
that this will take care of itself. She has gotten over the fever and the
retching but has developed some nasal drainage which can cause us to
need to suction her to help her get rid of the mucous.
Thank you Lore
UPDATE: 12-09-02
Trisha has been running a slightly elevated temp today. She has
been retching a lot. I am assuming if she did not have the surgery
that keeps her from being able to throw up that is what she would
of been doing today. She is very cranky and irritable. I have the
feeling it is going to be a long night. Please pray that she gets over
this quickly and it does not lead into something else.
Thank you Lore
UPDATE: 12-03-02
Trisha had a sleep study done last night. We have been having
problems keeping her oxygen level up during the night. We had
her on 1/8 to 1/2 of a liter. Well they found that she needed to
be up to 2 liters to be fully oxygenated. Also that she is having
most of her problems while she is having seizures when she is
sleeping. We knew she has seizure activity in her brain when
she was sleeping. It must be getting much worse. We go see
the pulmonolgist on the 12th to see what he thinks we need to
next. I am sure there is going to be a visit to her neurologist
real soon after that. I am concerned about the seizure medications.
She is already on Phenobarb and Mysoline. I just do not know
if she is at the maximum dose. I know that they also use Dilantin
for seizures. I know that there are other drugs used for them.
I also know that there are different side effects with each of
them. We will just have to lift this up to God. He sees the big
picture. If you happen to think of us lift Trisha up to the
Lord in prayer.
Lore
UPDATE: 10-23-02
Trisha had 3 doctor's appointments today. God certainly
has been at work in our little one's life.
First we saw her cardiologist. After listening to her heart extensively
he told us that he could hardly hear the heart murmur from her ASD.
He said that could be because of an elevated blood pressure to
her lungs. But he felt that it really was not that because the EKG
did not indicate that at all. To be sure he wanted to do an echo
cardiogram. When he came in to talk to us after the echo he was
totally amazed. Two years he told us if she did not get off the
oxygen by last year there would be no choice but to repair her
ASD. Well last year her ASD went from 10 cm to 8 cm. There
was no elevated blood pressure so no surgery needed. Today
once again there was no elevated blood pressure and ......
her ASD has closed to 5 cm. He said if things kept up this
way it should close enough that she will not need surgery. He
was so pleased with today's visit and progress. He told me
unless there was something we or her other doctors were
concerned about we do not need to be seen for 2 years.
YEAH!!!!!!!! But he also told us he is leaving the practice :0(.
So in 2 years we will be starting over with a new doctor.
Next we went to see Trisha's neurosurgeon. He was very
impressed with her progress. He said barring any complication
he did not need to her for a year. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
The last appointment was with Trisha's pulmonologist. She
has been having problems keeping her oxygen level up while
she is sleeping. We have gradually had to increase her oxygen
to help her keep her levels up. She has been snoring more so
we think that maybe her adenoid has grown back. He had an
xray taken. We are waiting for the radiologist to determine if
it has grown back. He has her scheduled for a sleep study on
the 2nd of December. I pray that this will all resolve itself before
she her scheduled sleep study. We have seen God's hand in
so many ways in her life already. I am claiming another of
those miracles for my daughter.
Thank you for all your prayers in the past and
for the ones you have yet to lift up for Trisha.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 10-09-02
It seems that Trisha is gaining new skills daily.
On Saturday I sat her on the floor in the living
room to play. Our windows are almost floor level.
Something outside must of caught her eye. She was
doing everything she could to see out the window
behind her. I went about my normal Saturday activities.
When I walked through the living room a little while
later she had turned 180 degrees still in a seated
position. She was looking out the window just as
happy as can be. On Sunday I went to peek in at
her after I had put her to bed for the night.
There she was sitting up in bed just as proud
as can be with her accomplishment. I still have
not seen her do either of these things. That is
okay just knowing she can do it is thrilling
enough for me.
I know she has come so much further than her
doctors ever predicted she would because of
all the wonderful people praying for her.
Thank you for praying for a little girl you
have never met.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 10-06-02
Trisha went to her orthopedic doctor yesterday. He was
very pleased with how she is doing. He said unless there
is some concern that I want him to check out he does not
need to see her for a year.
Bill my dear sweet hubby went back to his ENT yesterday
too. His MRI and blood work for autoimmune problems all
came out normal. Which is good............. but disappointing
since there is no other explanation as to why he has loss
so much of his hearing. All they can figure is the noise from
the machines when he is on the work floor have done more
damage than they thought. The doctor is prescribing special
ear protectors and if he wants to hear women talking and
Trisha's machines going off he will need hearing aids. We
are very thankful that there is no major medical problems.
Praise God He is so good.
Lore
UPDATE: 9-28-02
Trisha had an appointment with her GI doctor on Wednesday.
All her blood test for the Crohns disease came back negative.
YEAH!!!!!!!!! Barring any other problems we do not have
to go back until the end of March. Knowing how susceptible
she is to getting sick her GI doctor said that if we needed
him for something before the end of March he would do
his best to help us over the phone.
She has her annual check with her orthopedic the 4th of
October. I do not expect any big news or changes with this visit.
She has a her semi annual check up with her neurosurgeon
and her annual check with her cardiologist the 22nd of
October. I do not expect any big news or changes with
her visit to her neurosurgeon. We could find out that she
has to have her ASD repaired this year when we go to the
cardiologist. Two years ago he told us if we did not have
her off of her oxygen by last year at this time she would
have to have surgery fairly soon after that. Well she still is
not off the oxygen. Yet last year her ASD went from 10 cm
to 8 cm in size and the blood pressure to her lungs was still
just fine. So we did not have to have surgery. I am praying
for a very similar report this year. She should eventually have
to have surgery. But the old and bigger she is the less invasive
it should have to be. It would not hurt my feelings at all if
God saw fit to close the ASD divinely so she would not
have to have yet another surgery.
Trisha is doing wonderful these days. All of her therapist
are thrilled with her progress in every area. We are talking
about a little girl that was basically not suppose to be able
to do much of anything. I know it is because of prayers and
our all powerful God that she has defied the odds. Please
continue to pray for her continue improvement and health.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 9-18-02
I thought I would give you an update on Trisha's doctor's
appointments today. First she saw her pulmonogist. He
could not believe how good she looked and sounded. He
told us to stop her inhaler treatments. He said that within
the next 3 to 4 days we would know if she needed to
continue using them. I am praying that she does well
without them. I am all for the fewer the medications the better.
Next she saw her neurologist. He spent quite a bit of time
with us just marveling over how well she is doing. When
he was ready to walk out of the room he told me that she
looked much better than he ever thought she would.
I am praising God for these great doctor visits.
Lore
UPDATE: 9-06-02
I am praising God, because I had to change the sheets
on Trisha's bed this morning. We do not have to go to
the doctor's today because Trisha's bowels moved. The
consistency that Trisha's bowels movements have to be in
order for her to be able to pass them have to causes us to
have to change her bed in the morning quite frequently. We
have not had to do this since we cleaned her out for the
colonoscopy she had in July. We just have not been able to
get her stools to the consistency she needs to not have problems.
Her GI doctor changed her medication. He told us if she did
not have a good bowel movement by today she would have
to come back in to see him. Praise God we do not have to go
see him. Thank you for lifting us up in prayer.
Lore
UPDATE: 9-05-02
This is kind of an off the wall request. I also know this is
kind of late to be putting in for today but........... I was so
hoping that I would not have to post this prayer request. If
Trisha does not move her bowels tonight we have to go back
to the GI doctor tomorrow. Please pray we get the results
we need by morning. Thank you Lore
UPDATE: 9-04-02
I have talked with Lore and she said the tests did not
indicate a problem so there will be no surgery at this time.
Praise the Lord!!! They have changed some of Trisha's
medications and are going to just watch her for a few days so
please continue to pray for her.
They found that Trisha was chronically, mildly, anemic. Since
they know that Trisha gets more than enough iron in her diet this is
a concern. They think it could be possible early signs of Chrone's
disease and will be doing a blood test next week to make this
determination.
Also, Trisha's Father will be having an MRI next week to determine
the cause of a partial hearing loss. The possibility of a tumor exists
but they feel it would be benign. Please keep this family in your
prayers and I will keep you updated on Trisha and her Dad.
Thank you,
Elizabeth
UPDATE: 9-03-02
I just received a call from Trisha's mother, Lore. She said that
Trisha is having some problems and will going for a berium
enema tomorrow after which surgery is expected. That's all
I know right now and will let you know more tomorrow night.
We will be traveling to the hospital to give prayer and support.
Please be in prayer for this precious little one.
Thank You,
Elizabeth
UPDATE: 8-06-02
Trisha has had increased seizure activity the last couple of days.
We called her neurologist yesterday. He got back to me today
and told me to increase her Mysoline (seizure medication). Please
pray that this does what needs to be done to help her so we are
not seeing any seizures again. Thank you for your prayers.
In Him,
Lore
UPDATE: 8-02-02
Trisha had another blood test today to check her potassium
level. It is down from 4.4 to 4.0 which is normal. I happen to
talk to her dietitian while she was in the hospital on Wednesday.
We discussed whether she was getting enough potassium taking
2 1/2 cans of Pediasure a day. Technically a child her age
should be getting 4 cans a day. Trisha does not take that much
for 2 reasons. Number one she would gain so much weight
on that amount that it would affect her breathing as well as
what she could accomplish physically. Also she is totally tube
fed via her j-tube. If we tried to get another 1 1/2 cans of
Pediasure into her she would have to be "eat" just about 24
hours a day. That would affect her ability to work with her
therapist. If she is eating and they try to work with her hard
to get her to make strides she is making she would begin to
retch. When she is retching they cannot work with her. Any
way we have discovered that she is only getting about 60%
of the potassium she needs. If Trisha had not had problems
with blood in her stool she would not of had the procedure
she had on Wednesday. If she had not had that procedure
we would of not found the potassium problem until she
exhibited some physical problems. I praise God that she
had blood in her stools that got her to hospital where they
checked her electrolytes. The blood in the stools is from
mild gastritis and mild irritation around both her g-tube
and j-tube. She is on Carafate for this. I am praying that
the Carafate takes care of the blood in the stools and
that the liquid potassium will take care of her potassium
problems. Thank you for your prayers and e-mails.
In Him,
Lore

ADDED: 7-31-02
Trisha is a beautiful little three year old that I met today
while visiting with Simon at the hospital. She also has
Spina Bifida except she has many major complications in
addition to this. I will post a complete summary of her
condition tomorrow. For right now, she had surgery today
and was to go home today but her potassium was low so
they wanted to keep her overnight. I just received a call
from her mother saying that her potassium continues to
drop even though they are giving her potassium. It is under
2.8. Please help me storm heaven for her healing and
specifically for her potassium levels to return to normal.
We know God can fix it and we will claim that healing.
Thank you so much for your prayers for the children.
Elizabeth
